The fact that Takeru is nothing but a decoy makes it sound like he's the most expendable member of the group. However the other Shinkengers won't see it like that. If Kaoru orders them to abandon Takeru, they're not going to listen.

Real-world Japanese inheritance rules, traditionally, can have women inheriting over men in certain sorts of situations. So I'm not sure that a magic inheritance would necessarily be skipping over a female. First-born status tends to be worth a lot, for either gender, in Japanese fiction.

Slightly before the eye-catch where Jii is musing by himself about Doukoku knowing of the sealing character and that now their lives depend on the secret plan before the sukima sensor rang...

Ah okay, I just saw the part. For those of you who don't want to go back, Jii said,

"Now that Doukoku knows, the real battle starts here. Our lives depend on this secret plan. Please watch over us till the end."

Now, normally I'd say the secret plan is the sealing character, but if Doukoku knows about it he wouldn't really call it secret anymore, right? So he looks at the samurai armor to the left of where Takeru normally sits while he says that. Is he talking to our real ShinkenRed here meaning she's only supposed to show up in absolutely extreme situations, or just talking to God?

Also, this brings up another point. Does this mean Takeru can't use the sealing character after all?

If Takeru was the true lord, he would have mastered the seal by now.

Not sure, but I guess Takeru could have used the sealing character instead of bombarding Doukoku with the bazooka if he really knew the sealing character I guess...
