I thought USHI means cow and MOGYU means Bison.... so is this mecha a cow or a bison?. I'd go with Bison considering the horns.

Well, the next episode is called "Mogyu Daioh" for a reason, right? And Mogyu and Ushi are close enough in meaning, they both refer to some bovine creature.
