[Anime] Saint Seiya Omega - Talk Up!

Finished watching 1.

Speaking as someone who's new to the Saint Seiya world, I rather liked what I saw. Off to a bit of a slow start, but that scene in the middle was quite epic.

They had to cover a lot of information for this episode.

By now, Saint Seiya fans know that lecture about the Big Bang by heart, and I wouldn't be surprised if they say it again, or something similar, two or three more times in the series

Are there fansubs avaliable yet? I'm unable to find them anywhere...:disappoin

AnimeCrazy had English fansubs.

I just watched Episode 1 with English subs at Anime44.com. I've never watched Saint Seiya before but just reading up on it alone made me a fan in my own right. I also often listen to the theme songs aswell. So I figured since a new anime series was coming out, I should get in on the fandom and watch it. Just watching Episode 1 of this new series showed me why there's so many Saint Seiya fans.

Wow, the opening is so awesome and epic! I love how they brought the original singer and Shoko Nakagawa to sing together! They both sound awesome!:D

Episode 1 sort of snuck up on me and made me really enjoy it, I had no idea the episode was about to end by the time it actually ended. Reiko Yoshida is an amazing writer for anime, seeing her tackle something like Saint Seiya is great. I'm looking forward to seeing how the core group of Saints comes together and how they all end up at the school over the next couple of episodes.

I also love the sort of life that Kouga was brought into during the first episode, essentially being trained and not really understanding the true purpose of the training. I loved the relationship we saw between Saori and Kogua, as brief as it was, they had this relationship that is really hard to place. Older sister? Mother figure? Kouga blushed quite easily in her presence.

The animation was kind of all over the place and I can't tell if it's because this sort of character design requires higher budget to look nice or what, that seemed to be the case with HeartCatch Precure at times while Casshern Sins looked amazing. Xros Wars had the same problem as well in its third part, certain bits of animation and character design just feel...off, like they were keeping the in-between animation on screen for way too long.

Well, here's a bunch of assumptions I've come up after seeing Episode 1 over and over again. Then again, I might be over analyzing some extremely little minor details, which please don't kill me, just correct me.

[Hide] 1. I'm starting to think there's some sort of bond between Seiya and Kouga, besides the fact that they're both Pegasus. The following can be reasons as to why I think so:

A) Kouga seems to have a huge amount of hidden or locked Cosmo inside him. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but Mars also saw Seiya in Kouga. Is it possible that Seiya's spirit or some form of power is left inside Kouga? Maybe that's how the words for the Pegasus Meteor Fist came, the moves, but then again, it could just be baby Kouga's memories kicking in and acting on reflex.

B) Seiya is possibly the father of Kouga. Except, no one's told him. I mean, think about it. Saori kept the Pegasus pendant on her, which she looks at when the topic of Kouga becoming a Saint was brought up. The entire thing with his "fate to be a Saint" might be referring to the fact that he's Seiya's son. That might be why Mars saw Seiya in Kouga and probably why Kouga sees Seiya giving him guidance, the connection between father and son.

2. I think Saori is more than what she seems to Kouga. Could be just my wishful thinking, but I have a feeling she might be Kouga's real mother with Seiya as his father (again :P). After all, this might sound really stupid, well it is stupid, but Purple hair + Brown hair = Reddish Pink hair? I don't know, wild guess. Maybe that's why she keeps him training alone by her side in hopes he will turn into the Saint that his father was. I mean the way that baby Kouga just happened to wander into Sanctuary to Athena in Greek outfit too (with the whole mini shoulder pads thing going on) and he just walked to Saori happily, like he knew her. Part of me thinks they keep his identity a secret because Mars might take advantage of that and use Kouga as well. Might be why they want Kouga to become a Saint, so when he knows who he is, he won't be so weak to not be able to protect himself. Plus, I think I heard Kouga say something like "papa" or "pa" when Seiya starts to fight Mars. Might just be my ears though.

3. I don't think Seiya is dead at all. May seem like it now, but probably somewhere else or maybe him and the other Gold Saints went on some sort of mission to Seal Mars, and now that he's released Kouga and **** might have to go find the place where they all went off to seal the guy and unseal the Gold Saints from it also.

4. Something tells me from the opening scene that we might see some other characters become Gold Saints besides the 5 we know and love. The opening shows at least 6 or 7 Gold Saints standing in the fire, if you look carefully. My guess is either Jabu, Kiki, or a new character has taken up a mantle. I can't seem to identify Ikki at all though, despite having already spotted Hyoga, Shiryu, Seiya, and Shun.

5. There could be someone bigger than Mars. I just have a feeling that he's just the one doing all the kidnapping. He doesn't seem so intimidating as they make him out to be. I mean, Seiya could go toe to toe with him, and he is also surprised by Kouga's newly discovered Cosmo as well. [/hide]
