[Anime] Saint Seiya Omega - Talk Up!

Oh really? Thats good, tried to brush up by reading the stuff on Wiki....was confused lol
May give this anime a chance.

And so it begins.

There was a lot of good for the first episode.

-Epic Sagittarius Seiya (Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken included)
-Shaina just beating the leaving hell out of Kouga as "training".
-Tatsumi still has the kendo stick.
-We get to see Shaina's face again :anime:
-Kouga's Ryu Sei Ken was pretty awesome.

Things I didn't like however were...

-Mars voice for one, didn't do it for me.
-The lack of Cloth Object/Statue will always be an issue for me.
-And they could have at least made Kouga a little bit less of a brat.
-No ending song.

Curious things I saw on this episode.
-Kouga has no control over his cosmos yet, but he used it out of reflex, instead of because of anger or strong emotions.
-The house that they were in looked a lot like the one Saori kept Seiya during Overture.
-Saori kept the Pegasus cloth necklace on her.
-When Kouga wore the Pegasus cloth, Mars saw Seiya in him, despite the fact that Mars only met Seiya as the Sagittarius Saint.
-Kouga only learn Ryu Sei Ken after putting on the cloth.

The episode was better than expected.
Seiya was a complete badass, especially when he did a double Ryu Sei Ken on Mars :buttrock:
Kouga's Ryu Sei Ken was insane as well.
The only thing that bugged me was Saori/Athena's new voice.
It's okay, but it sounds a bit off :disappoin

I was too preoccupied by Mars' voice to notice anyone else's...

The opening in higher quality...

Having never seen anything Saint Seiya before, I enjoyed the first episode immensely. Amazing animation, great music, a classic intro episode. Opening is a duet of Shokotan and NoB, that's... that's just wow. And there's no ED which is something not many anime shows can afford to begin with. Voice actors, including Midorikawa Hikaru as Kouga, BUT obviously except Shokotan, sound obviously very old though.

Don't let their looks fool you. Other than Kouga, every other character in this episode is over 38 years old

In fact, both Seiya and Marin are voiced by their original voice actors from 25 years ago, Touru Furuya and Mami Koyoma.

Yeah, I know that, and I appreciate the effort on Toei's part.

And it paid off. It really helped win back over some of the older fans that were initially put off by the series aesthetic design.

Next episodes is title: “Setting Off! A New Generation of Saints!”

Finished watching episode 1.

Speaking as someone who's new to the Saint Seiya world, I rather liked what I saw. Off to a bit of a slow start, but that scene in the middle was quite epic.

Also, Mars's voice sounded way familiar...so I did a little wikia diving.

Hidekatsu Shibata, who also did General Shadow in Stronger and the OOOs movie.
