The dub of sailor moon makes me physically ill.

Yeah, you're damn right the English dubs were bullshit. Thank god for the fandubs.

Of course Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, the fifth season never made it to the states because of three reasons:

1. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune were lovers and there were some scenes that show their strong lesbian relationship.

2. The Sailor Starlights always changed their physical appearances from guys to girls and back again every time they henshin up which drove a lot of controversy about the gender issue.

3. The show itself was now being remade into a live-action series and the anime was considered to the Western viewers.

Luckily, there was a chance to see the fifth season. Whether you could buy the bootleg version off of eBay, or download the episodes off the internet.

Oh and speaking of Fandubs, I think there are a few of them. The recent ones were the fandubs of season 5 only through the Queen Nehelenia arc but they were still good. Much better than what the official dubs could do, if SS was realesed to the US, but that never happened.

having seen some of the fandubs, I would disagree if only because they sound like the voices were trying_to_hard. I mean they were ACTING when they only needed to be acting.

As far as the actual series discussion, I remain a huge fan of Haruka. She's awesome. I also really wished the SMFF people were more imaginative and able to write something beyond Usa/Mamoru or Yuri.

And PGSM is very interesting to watch since it's almost a total reboot of the original Manga story arc.

I'm reviving this thread, we need more Sailor Moon love in here. I myself am a HUGE fan. For any of you who have seen my senior picture on the boards before you should know this.

It was so hard to pick favorites.

Favorite Outer Scout = Uranus.

Favorite Inner Scout = Jupiter or Mars

Favorite Live action scout (even though this was the anime thread) = Venus.

Favorite Season in the Manga: R - I loved the whole invasion feeling to it, and that season was violent.
Favorite Anime Season: S - It was more apocalyptic than the rest.
Favorite Inner: Mars
Favorite Outer: Uranus

You know for the life of me I could never understand why S was so popular back in the day. It was a good season but R is still my favorite.

R had everything going for it. Great villains, love, betrayal, and humor. And a killer story about the future, too. It had such an epic final battle, as well. By comparison, I never really liked the final confrontations of S or Super S.

I luv Sailor Moon but honestly, I'm a moonie fan that loves all forms of it. Manga, Live action, games, anime; It's all great.

The original, R and S for me. My favorite Inners would be the title character and Jupiter and my favorite outer would be Pluto.

I don't collect any of the merchandise because....well......there are certain things that guys shouldn't buy.:sweat:
