Sailor Moon Anime

Hey guys can we keep this about the original japanese/subbed series. I know there are dub fans, so maybe you can make another thread about the dub? I personally despise the dub, there is nothing good about it. I wanted to make this thread to discuss the original japanese language show. thanks. That said...

I think the only season I don't like that well is Super S. I am not a huge fan of Chibiusa. She was good in SMS, but an entire season almost totally dedicated to her was to much for me.

Why must we only make this about the Japanese Original?

The dub is actually pretty good and superior to the Japanese version in some respects. Notably the lips actually match the lines being spoken.

Now the changes and alterations that first DiC and later Cloverway did were inexcusable and largely ruined the series but the actual voice work and acting was just fine. As were the original songs done for the US Series.

I liked DIC's dub. Top notch voice acting and an awesome soundtrack make for a good anime.

Thank you. At least someone fucking appreciates it. This is why I never got along with the anime community. Too many snobs going "omg, american voices are terrible. omg they edited something. omg nothings better than japanese"

Sailor Moon DiC dubs were fantastic and I enjoy them just as much as I do the Japanese version of the show. Cloverway, on the other hand...

So what if some key episodes were edited. They had to be for American TV.

I'm a hardcore Moonie fan. I've love EVERYTHING about the series, American Dub, Japanese, Toku, and manga alike. I don't think there's a single part of Sailor Moon I hate besides Cloverways poor dubbing and care of the show.

Here here! Call me crazy but there are things I enjoy more in DiC's dubbing vs the Japanese original. I think some of the music cues are more appropriate than the Japanese version. But the Japanese version did tell the story better, overall.

And with that I regret making this thread. Is it to much to ask just to have a discussion about the original sailor moon with the japanese language with out people getting all pissy and starting up insults? I'm done now. Saikodragon, thanks for making this thread into a dub vs sub crap fest. Nothing was stopping the dub fans from making their own thread to discuss the sailor moon dub. Instead a couple of you had to start up insults such as saikodragon, and others just couldn't get past some people not liking the dub. Have fun with your dub vs sub nonsense.

Dude, you're the one saying all that stuff. Your very first post was saying how the subs were good and the dub was crap. You can't say that, and then get mad when others say the opposite.

Also, the thread says "Sailor Moon Anime", so people at first more than likely didn't think "dub" or "sub"(well atleast I didn't), but then nearly everyone in the thread started using the words. Regardless of which you're talking about, you can still discuss it. Basically same stuff happend, just the dub edited some stuff out, & didn't make it past Super S (that I know of).

Anywho from what I've watched of both, it's still ONE SERIES & I enjoyed it. I haven't seen much past Super S, but I did watch some of the Sailor Stars subbed. I really enjoyed R & the first season.

So instead of making a comparison, why can't we just talk about the show in general??

Or would it kill people to compromise & get along?

If not for the dub I wouldn't have saw SailorMoon so I appreciate it, & if not for the subs, I wouldn't have seen past Super S, or some of the edited stuff. So they're both good since after all, they're about the same thing.
