**** Saburo Hatte... It's Shotaro ISHI fucking NOMORI

Saburou Hatte was headed by Tooru Hirayama until 1979. (He was rather sick of Bandai getting more creative control with Toei's superhero programs.)

Masked Rider Black was an exception to the rule; Ishinomori had a lot of creative input with this show, while Tooru Hirayama helped out, uncredited, on the series! (Also, Black lacked the sentouin/henchmen, which was Hirayama's trademark; This is not a bad thing, though.) It shows, because Black and Shadow Moon both had incredible designs!

I see thanks for the info..

Tsuburaya pretty much created the genre, Ishinomori revolutionized it.

So Tsuburaya invented the wheel, then Ishinomori put it on a wagon.:castlerock:

BTW, Toei hates you.

Lies! Eiji Tsuburaya earned that name long before Ishinomori made his mark on the genre! :shakefist

Don't blame the kid since he or she probably don't know anything about the history of tokusatsu.

Tsuburaya Eiji is the "The God Of Tokusatsu". No doubt about it. Otherwise, Godzilla will probably just another B-grade movie(or even worse) in Japan.

No. It is Tsuburaya who made tokusatsu a pop culture in Japan.

It was Doctor Tezuka Osamu who made animation famous in Japan.

Ishinomori Shotaro is just another comic artist who learned from Dr.Tezuka .Other of Dr.Tezuka students included Motou Abiko, Fujimoto Hiroshi(who created Doraemon) and Akatsuka Fujio.

Without Dr.Tezuka, Ishinomori probably won't even become a popular artist at all.

Without Tsuburaya Eiji, Mr. Hirayama won't even want to create tokusatsu series for Toei at all. He was the one who looked for Ishinomori.

Ishinomori became part of tokusatsu history because of these "three great men" in Japan : Tsuburaya Eiji, Doctor Tezuka Osamu and Hirayama Tohru.

What does that make Mr. Ishinomori, then?

He was another man who became popular due to the contribution of "three great men".

Actually it was Toei mistake not to name Hirayama Tohru in most of their tokusatsu series due to his contribution. But instead Toei prefer a weird name like SH(I don't even want to type the name).

It was Toei loss when Hirayama and Amemiya Keita left Toei. Just looked at the quality of their series now and you know what I mean.

The great Tokusatsu god (Rest his soul) Passed on two years before Kuuga started.

The title of "Tokusatsu God" actually belong to Tsuburaya Eiji just like the title "Animation God" belong to Doctor Tezuka Osamu.

"The end of Showa era means the end of great tokusatsu series from Toei".

I knew it. My brother told me that Shotaro Ishinomori created both Kamen Rider and Super Sentai....Actually know that I think about. The great Tokusatsu god (Rest his soul) Passed on two years before Kuuga started. Do you think he died thinking his Kamen Rider creation was a failure even though today it's better than ever?

Don't know about better than ever, but I think even though it was limited to just movies during that ten year period or so, Kamen Rider was still a cultural icon, so I doubt anyone could considered it a failure. Besides he was working on concepts for Kuuga at the time of his death so it isn't like he didn't know of its eventual rebirth.

I don't really see the point of arguing who is the 'God of Tokusatsu.'

They were all creative and talented men, and they all deserve at least a litte respect.

So yeah, I agree with ClimaxEmperor. Polytheism is awesome, guise.
