Ever been driving, trying to listen to the radio and getting mostly static? Ever been watching tv and the signal is messed up and all you get is a fuzzy picture and terrible sound? Have you ever considered the causes of these seemingly simple inconviniences or did you just ignore them like pretty much ninety nine percent of the people that deal with these things? There are some though who have thought more about it, and those that probed deep enough found something far more dark and sinister lurking underneath these supposedly everyday problems. Strange extra dimensional beings known as the Nazaan which exist on a plane of existence made up entirely of electro magnetic waves. Their intentions, their language, their social structure virtually everything about them is unknown. For a while they seemed rather benign, even if somewhat inconvinient due to the radio interference that their existence caused, and because of that those that discovered their existence chose to simply ignore them and leave them alone. It turned out that making that decision was likely to be one of the biggest mistakes of our time.

One of the scientists who discovered them, an eccentric man known as Reiji Kiryu, had continued to keep an eye on these beings and made a startling discovery. Their numbers were exponentiollay increasing with every passing day, building up armies of warriors which could only mean one thing: they were preparing to invade our own plane of existence. Thanks to his vigilance he was given time to prepare for the invasion. Using designs of classified origins he created a set of suits which harnessed an energy known as "Wave Power" in order to give their users amazing abilities , power weapons which were generations ahead of any others known to man and most importantly deal signifcant damage to the Nazaan, something which no other type of power could accomplish. To harness these amazing sets of technology he sent his associates all over the world to locate those whose bodies have the most potential of using Wave Power to it's fullest extent and organizing them into a specially trained fighting force known as Radio Sentai Wavenger!

With the Nazaan beginning to enter our plane of existence it is time for this team to step up and fight for humanity....and clear radio reception!

Gear:

Wave Scanner: A handheld radio developed by Dr. Kiryu which serves a communication device for the team as well as transformation device. By tuning in to a specific frequency and using the voice command "Wave Scanner, Tune In" it harnesses wave power to materialize the Wave Suit stored within it.

RoyalScanner: An ancient relic of unknown origin

Wave Blaster: A handheld gun which serves as the standard sidearm of the team. Fires concentrated wave power which is harmful only to Nazaan or other beings fropm the wave plane, is harmless to everything else and doesnt cause alot of collateral damage.

WaveRiders: A hightech vehicle resembling a surfboard, can be used by the team to literally ride radio waves from place to place.

Wave Saber: WaveRed's lightsaber like weapon, can increase in length or width according to WaveRed's will

Wave Whip: WaveWhite's weapon which uses a beam modeled after a whip which can follow enemies around and ensanre them

Wave Axe: WaveGreen's weapon which uses to beam-like axe blades which can increase in size to deal more damage.

Wave Drill: WaveYellow's weapon which utilizes a beam drill to pierce through enemies.

Wave Rang: Wave Blue's large boomerang which can be used as a close or long range weapon

QueenScepter: A staff which conceals a powerful blade. Can manipulate wave power in a form resembling magic as well as strenthen the blade

Important Locations:
RSW 10.40 FM
A radio station which serves as a front for Dr.Kiryu and the Wavenger's activities and facilities. Underneath it are the various facilities where the team's gear is tested and maintained. Some members of the team have decided to work there in order to make some extra money as well. Along with their various programs they also broadcast the team's exploits (while maintaining their anonymity), something which gained them quite a few listeners.

Name: Ethan Stiles

History: From the time he was born to today his family has always lived from paycheck to paycheck due to an old injury that his father suffered which prevented him from doing hard labor and his motherand sister's various health issues. As a result when he was old enough instead of going off to college like many did, he instead immidiately got a job to help support them. After a while he ended up with more jobs than he could handle, but he continued performing to the best of his abilities in each and doing his best to ignore the stress that was rapidly building up. Finally it reached it's peak and through a series of mistakes he ended up being fired from each of them. Despite his family's reassurances that things would be allright he couldnt help but panic as things seemed rather hopeless, but his luck was all about to change. The next day while out trying to find a new job he was approached by one of Dr.Kiryu's assistants with an offer for a job over in Japan working for some radio station. Naturally Ethan was suspicious , after all it was a very strange sounding offer, but when he saw how much he would be making it was an offer that he simply couldnt refuse. The assistant told him all the arrangements for the trip were all arranged ahead of time and that all he would need to do was get on the plane the week after. He took some time to say his goodbyes and get his stuff together, and give himself a crash course in the language and finally he was off.

When he first arrive it all seemed strangely normal, but when Dr.Kiryu himself met up with Ethan and showed him the hidden facilities underneath the station he learned the true nature behind why he was brought there. It turned out that Ethan had amazingly high potential when it came to utilizing Wave Power , potential that Dr.Kiryu felt was vital to the Wavenger Project. After everything was explained Ethan agreed on the condition that he would still be paid the amount promised when he was first approached by Kiryu's assistant. Dr.Kiryu agreed to his terms and thus Ethan officially became WaveRed who was intended to be the team's leader.

Since then he has adjusted to life in Japan rather well thanks to the fact that Wave Power could also be used to accelerate learning in individuals that could use it, allowing him to learn the language rather easily. Aside from being WaveRed, his main job is hosting a radio program on RSW 10.40 known as "Hard Rock and Smack Talk" where he plays various classic rock songs, speaks entirely and English and ridicule each and ever one of the little details of Japanese , and while it isnt the most popular program they have it does have a good sized following who appreciate his preferred styles of music and his humorous style of comparing Japanese culture and his own, all while ridiculing both just for the hell of it. He also does various side jobs around the station and various oddjobs for the locals. He makes a good sized chunk of money but sends the majority of it him, which is why he he lives in a rather small apartment and usually eats foods whose names involve the words "instant" , not exactly the best lifestyle but he is rather content with it. That said he still has a tendency to take on more than he can handle which sometimes leaves him utterly exhausted.

He is a fairly nice guy and does his best to get along with his fellow Wavengers, often having them as guests on his program, he does have some quirks involving women though. For the most part if a girl is already in a relationship he just tends to not even notice them ,as if they are being hidden by some weird cloaking device, believing that since he is so busy he doesnt have time to be stuck in the friend zone.

Bio: An attractive young woman attending a prestigious college in Tokyo, Hikaru is the daughter of the president of Ayasugi Pharmaceuticals, thus making her a part of one of the richest families next to the Enomoto and Kasugano families. From the time she was born, Hikaru has lived a privileged life, with her parents giving her the best in anything -- whether it be in education, or the latest in girls' toys and clothes. The servants in the large mansion have also given her their very best in preparing her for school and beyond, ranging from prepping her clothes for the day, to giving her the most nutritious and palatable meals that keep her going through the day. A kind person deep down, Hikaru made sure to do her best in the prestigious private school she attended, Getting A's and B's on her report cards, as well as consistently getting a high ranking on her midterms and finals as a way of giving back to her parents and servants. Even with all that, however, she also made time for friends and playtime just for herself.

Graduating with high honors from the high school part of her private school, Hikaru began to think about her own future. Though she liked living the privileged life at home, she decided that it was time for her to spread her wings, and try to support herself by leaving home. With entering an art school to develop her drawing skills further as a short term goal, and becoming a Doujin artist a long term one, Hikaru made searching for employment and a suitable apartment as her first priorities. Though successful in securing an apartment, thanks to stock wealth given to her by her father, Hikaru found out quickly that securing a job was harder. Filling out applications in various places, from clothing boutiques to the local fast food joint, She waited and waited, but received no call from her preferred places, leading her to assume at that point that her application was rejected.

Feeling rather dejected, Hikaru headed out of her apartment to continue her search for employment when she came across one of Dr. Kiryu's assistants, who happened to live in the same apartment building. Though she did not really apply for a radio station, she wholeheartedly accepted the offer for employment at the station. Receiving a tour of the radio station, she was shown around the facilities, ranging from the microphone booths where broadcasts occurred, to soundboards that controlled the content of the broadcasts so as to adhere to government standards. Though she was tempted to write off the station as just like any other radio station in Japan, a gut feeling told her that there was more to the station than meets the eye. Her intuition would be proven right later on, as the assistant began to show her around some of the more hidden facilities located in the station, eventually telling her about how they were really an organization developed to counter a threat hiding in the radio waves, called the Nazaan. The assistant would then tell Hikaru that she was chosen to become a member of an elite fighting force known as Wavenger -- five warriors that will counter the threat of the Nazaan and protect the city from them. While Hikaru does find the story to be somewhat outlandish, she felt that it was probably a grave situation. Trusting her intuition once more, She accepted the responsibility of being WaveWhite.

Having shown an aptitude for music, as well as a degree of knowledge about the most popular bands and artists in J-Pop music, Hikaru was chosen to become the host of a Noontime Music requests show known as "Music Request Hotline", where she plays the songs requested by callers, as well as reporting the latest news pertaining to some of the most popular musical acts in Japan. It is also to be noted that since birth, she has been set to marry a young man from another family that her parents have forged a business partnership with. While most women in arranged marriages reject such an arrangement, Both Hikaru and her fiancee found themselves falling head over heels with each other, and would look forward to the many times they would meet. Because of her enthusiasm for music, she would often bug Akira with random trivia involving various musical legends from all over, ranging from The Beatles to Asian Kung-Fu Generation.

History: Daisuke was never much of a social person during school, because of how he felt left out from others. While normal guys were into sports, and girls Daisuke was more into fashion and the same sex. While always feeling left out Daisuke never was really a social person and if he had any friends they were mostly girls and were outcast as well. After graduating high school Daisuke thought of where he wanted to go to college, and seeing as he could really go anywhere with his grades Daisuke chose to go to a local art school who had many great artist, and fashion designers rise from it. Daisuke's family was never really low on money, and so this let them save up money for Daisuke to use for college.

After a year of attending school Daisuke noticed a note left for him at his dorm to meet him at RSW 10.40 FM. After heading to the radio station Daisuke entered to be greeted by Dr.Kiriyu's assistant. While he chatted with the assistant Dr.Kiriyu showed up, and welcomed Daisuke into his office. While sitting there Daisuke said," So what is it you wish to see me for?" Dr.Kiriyu then said," Well Mr.Mitsuhide I am here to ask you to assist me with a project I am working on, and I just want you to know that you are a where finding for this project." Daisuke felt strange, and said," This isn't like a horror movie is it?" Dr.Kiriyu then explained the Wavenger project to Daisuke and he said," Oh well this is a huge decision I mean it's not something I can just decide." After talking it over with himself for a few days Daisuke accepted to join the Wavengers as WaveBlue.

Because of joining the Wavengers Daisuke was offered a job at being a radio host. Daisuke accepted the job offer, and quit his job as a waiter. Daisuke's talk show " Pop Update" is about Pop culture, whats in and out in fashion, and talking about gossip about celebrities. Daisuke is very energetic and talks way to much, but always knows how to lift people's spirits. Daisuke has never really had a fighter's body or has ever learned how to fight and so Daisuke trains whenever he can to be more of a help then a burden on his allies.

History: A well endowed student that's in her final year of high school, Akira doesn't really have that much of a life story, it being normal for the most part. She does well in most subjects, save art, and though not at the top of her class, still gets solid grades on her tests. As for what she wants to do after she's done with high school, she's hoping to become a teacher and knows that she needs to keep her grades solid for such a career choice.

However, a girl her age does also need spending money, and while not poor, her family doesn't have much in the way of expendable income. It's for this reason that she began looking around for employment, her friends thinking that she should try doing modeling part time because of her figure. Not wanting to do something so obvious, she continued to search, when she was approached by one of Dr. Kiryu's assistants, asking if she was interested to work for them. She didn't recall putting in an application for a radio staton, but wasn't gonna argue with the money she was gonna get for it.

Of course, she got more than she bargained for with the whole story she was told, and the hidden facilities shown to her. Now, some high school girls would run and scream at such an obligation, but Akira thankfully possessed a good heart, and accepted to be their WaveYellow. Her job at the radio station when not fighting for them is running a program of her own called "Gate to Youkai Palace" where she talks about supernatural sightings and also dispense trivia on the different types of spirits and monsters in Japanese culture. She usually draws horror fans and older people, who remember being told stories of youkai when they were younger.

Akira is a person who likes to encourage others to do their best, no matter the circumstances. Despite her hosting a horror-like program, she has a bad habit of working herself up over real dangers and getting scared by them, even if the chances of said thing happening to her are low. As to her body, she doesn't hate it, but finds it tiring when people point out how large her chest is. One last thing of note is that she does currently have a boyfriend and is in a strong relationship with him. It's because of this that she outright refuses any advances made towards her, even if she hurts someone's feelings in the process.

History: A well known actress, Aelita Page has been seen in movies, Broadway musical plays and occasional cameos in television programs. Talented in both gymnastics and marital arts, Aelita does her own stunts instead that of a stunt double. Like any other actress, Aelita is seen both in the light and dark perspectives amongst the publics eyes, but nothing is really known about the true actress. Thus the image created her stardom, has never been taken very seriously as a human being and comes to a cross point in her life. Aelita does not deny that she enjoys being an actress, but feels an unexplainable void that comes from it.

Unlike most celebrities Aelita does not live in a rather lavish house or condo, but rather simple flat house. The money received (after the agent takes his share) goes into a saving account and the other to help pay off her mother’s house mortgage. When the writer’s guild went on strike, Aelita showed her support by turning down producer’s offer to star in their production. It did not feel right for actor/actresses to have any part when the real work is done by the talent writers in the industry. As The Writer’s Strike wage on, Aelita fell back singing in casinos, gentlemen’s clubs and events for her next line of work.

It would happen further down the line after finishing a gig, Aelita found an envelope addressed to her awaiting within the dressing room. An admirer perhaps? Well, not entirely along those lines. The letter was an invitation to a new promising station RSW 10.40 FM offering her a position there. With her passion in J-Pop was given the chance to host to broaden the masses with a collection of both familiar and new promising groups.

Aelita is a very flirtatious, kind-hearted young buxom woman who cares very deeply about those around her and lends a shoulder to lean upon (should they require one). There is no deniable doubt that amongst her fellow Wavengers, Aelita secretly has feelings for.

Name: Teigo Kashino

History: Teigo has been blessed with a higher-than-normal intelligence, as well as a keen interest and skill with all sorts of electronics. This is tempered by the fact that he is somewhat socially crippled.

He had always been on the quiet side since birth (hence his name), but his true problems arose during his early school days when his parents picked up on the fact of his high intelligence. They loved him very much but neither of them had been able to make it into a good university and, seeing how smart Teigo was, they decided to do all they could to make sure that he would.

This resulted in them being very strict with Teigo's schooling, leaving him with little time for anything but school, homework and as much tutoring and cram school as could be afforded. He never got out much as a result and never really felt comfortable talking to any of his classmates, who always seemed so different from him. This has left him extremely book smart, but with little real world experience.

One day after he graduated at the top of his class from high school, a knock came at the front door. In walked a man who his parents explained was a recruiter for a work-study program that, while it would mean he would have to wait a year to apply for college, would help him gain valuable real world experience and confidence that would make him a shoe-in for any University he wanted to go to.

At first, Teigo was uncertain (and inwardly terrified of this stranger) but when the "recruiter" convinced the younger man's parents to temporarily leave the room, he revealed his true identity as an assistant for Dr. Kiriyu and explained the true situation. Teigo started to think this man was insane, until the assistant revealed what would become his Wave Scanner to entice him with his love of electronics.

Now working at RSW 10.40 FM, his cover job is that of helping to maintain and repair the equipment for the studio (as he does not yet have the confidence for any sort of on-air work). For the most part, however, he spends much of his time in the underground labs, helping to work on the advance equipment he and the rest of the team uses.

He is still very shy and awkward around the others, rarely speaking unless spoken to, but perhaps, given time, he may finally find the courage to more fully breach the wall he has around himself.

History: Aislin was born to the royal family in a time long forgotten. Her home was what would be considered a utopia by others. A perfect blend of technology and magic that worked in harmony with the planet. Growing up Aislin was a strong willed child. Her father, the King, encouraged her to explore and learn the things she wanted, knowing it would make her a good future Queen.

Years past and Aislin mastered many forms of combat and much of her people’s technology. Marrying a prince from a nearby kingdom the two became known as kind and caring rulers. But one day their world turned upside down. The head engineer burst into the room and began speaking of ‘waves corrupting technology’ and that they must figure out what it meant.

The shock of her husband, Aislin took charge and working with the best minds in their kingdom, discovered the cause of the threat.

A race of beings call the Nazaan. The lived in a world of radio waves, and this allowed them to grow by corrupted the technology of Aislin’s people. Working quickly a power to fight the Nazaan was developed. The King chose 4 brave knights and donned the most powerful armor himself, calling it InfernoWave and headed into battle within the Nazaan home dimension.

Aislin grew worried as her husband and the knights returned from each battle more and more injured. Deciding to do something besides sitting and waiting, Aislin summoned the head engineer and together they developed another power, though it wasn’t elementally based. Aislin donned the powerful armor and headed into battle. Calling herself QueenWave, after the design and her role, Aislin quickly took down any opposing forces as she made her way to the King.

She arrived in time to see her husband clash blades with the Nazaan ruler. The 4 knights lay unmoving, having sacrificed their power and lives to the King. Focusing her mind, Aislin summoned her weapon of choice, the QueenScepter and plunged into the fray. The King was understandably shocked to learn what his wife had done, but was glad to have another fighting against their foe.

To her horror, the Nazaan managed to disarm the King and used the InfernoSaber and its own blade to kill the King. Laughing with glee, the Nazaan discarded the blood stained saber and turned to the only remaining warrior. In a moment of rage and grief, Aislin picked up the saber and slammed it together with her Scepter. Through sheer force of will a massive explosion revealed that the two weapons had fused.

A hard battle raged as Aislin fought both with Saber and Scepter, finally impaling the Nazaan on her blade. Though it was a hollow victory for Aislin. She’d lost not only her love and loyal servants, but her home as well. In the battle, the key to her returning home, the RoyalScanner had been destroyed. Summoning up the last of will, Aislin encased herself in a powerful force field and went into suspended animation. She’d decided to keep protecting her home, even from the other side.

(OOC: Until her Royal Scanner is repaired, Aislin can’t leave the radio wave world, but she doesn’t need to transform to fight, she’s ‘trapped’ in her fighting form.)
