Racism Sucks.

Nope. I know guns kill people though and can cause for very unfortunate situations and outcomes.

Why do people say stuff like that?

Cars don't get you places... people get you places. If you walked with bricks on your feet it's the same thing is how that rationale works. Therefore cars are no more responsible for getting people places than bricks. Only guns us and effect takes even less effort and time to do what it does than driving a car.

Yeah people get you places IN CARS.. But hey guess what... Guns don't kill people, people kill people. I mean unless you know of a gun that can shoot by itself. Do you also believe that if guns were outlawed that people wouldn't try to kill others? Do you think if there were no guns at all criminals would just up and quit? I mean that's how you and people that are NO GUNS EVER, sound.

I am 100% for more gun control. Better laws to keep guns out of the hands of kids and people that shouldn't have them. I also think gun shows where the laws of the land don't hold should be shut down. BUT... to even think or say that guns are 100% bad and no one should have them... There are people that hunt, use guns for protection, and collect them with out even ever having shot one.

If you are so anti-gun, then start a movement to start a bill to abolish gun rights. People are so easy to say GUNS ARE BAD no one should have them, but they never put their money where their mouths are. Get a hold of your congressman, start writing a bill, and get the 2nd amendment over turned. That is the only way you are going to get guns outlawed.

It also seems as though a lot of people that are anti-gun just love shoot-em up movies. If people are so against guns and such, why not boycott movies that sensationalize guns? There is a group that is trying to get smoking banned from being in movies. They even got the MPAA to make movies with smoking carry higher ratings such as R and PG-13.

I find that the more laws you put on the law abiding citizens, the more it will make them vulnerable to criminals who can give a rat's ass either way and will still break the law. I do agree that children up until the age of 13 , those who have not taken a class on gun training and management and passed and incapable citizens for any reaso should not even have access to guns. But I don't like current laws where they forbid former felons from having arms or vote because it only makes former criminals care less about coming back into society and just keep on breaking the law, plus I don't like how they make it difficult to even own them, much less make them .

I have never got that these idiots who are against gun rights always go to see films like that. If you want the criminals and police force (Which can become corrupt easily) to have all the weapons , sure do that. But whenever your friends, siblings, relatives and those you love are killed because of the lack of ways to effectively defend themselves , don't blame me. Guns like most weapons can cause harm when mishandled, but like any other weapon, it also has practical purposes like hunting for food ,home defense and self defense. I prefer non-lethal methods, but in my stare of Michigan, stun weapons are banned although there is a law in the works to change that.

Theoretical yes, but here's the point. Laws like for former felons/criminals are negative in multiple ways such as this .

Sure "the Castle Doctrine" and" Stand Your Ground" laws allow for criminals to take advantage of them, but on the other hand think of their novelty. There are places where if you even try to defend yourself against a home burglar which allow the burglars and criminals to sue the victims and make them pay for causing them damage such as in my home state . And frankly , it is disgusting. Every citizen has the right to defend themselves from someone attacking them, and as I recall ,the people on the case said that if Zimmerman killed out of cold blood , SYG does not apply if this goes to trial.

It's not those laws that are controversial it is the proper enforcement of laws that is in question. What needs to be figured if it was him who initiated the contact or if it was Trayvon. If brought to trial, they will also have to see if the witnesses have reliable testimony.

Once a court has this case, we will get many things from it ,but even then, the jury might get evidence that won't be shown to the media or poses contrary to what we believe . We are just being fed bits and pieces of a story that's being twisted either way by the media on rumors and assumptions rather than per say facts while we see racist organizations like the New Black Panthers ,Al Sharpton and Rev.Wright (The black supremacist pastor of Obama's church which he went to for over 20 years whom said HIV was created to kill blacks and that 9/11 was deserved) and other people who have acted irrationally over this case. I wouldn't be surprised if this case turns the other way .

I can mow people with cars, slit throats with knives, slash people to death with swords . As I recall (beg and pardon any details), Hannibal's army remnants were able to kill a few thousand soldiers in two days with only the most conventional weaponry . 50,000 in one DAY. Now divide the death tolls per soldier and its one man per soldier disregarding if one killed more than the other. Outmatched and against many odds, Hannibal was close to changing world history, all without guns. Simple swords.

Anything can be used to kill people. Anything. You'd be surprised at what people will do if they only have a fork , spoon, pencil... anything that is ordinary. The issue I believe they are having is similar to how crossbows were perceived back when they were invented . They were the past's equivalent of the machine gun which led to England's victory over French knights in this one battle in N. France back in the 1300's.

Once we as a society realize that people themselves are the problem, we will be able to come t face with our worst selves and say, "we know you're there and we accept it. You have no power over me" and be more concerned about how the police themselves have more weapons than we the law abiding public do much less the criminal underworld.

Bigdog, please don't call people idiots just because they are against gun rights. I firmly believe they are misinformed, but they are just expressing their beliefs.

I want to know why the convicted felon in that moral dilemma scenario was a lesbian adoptive mother for no reason.

@Kingranger I get highly passionate sometimes and I sometimes say or type things that I shouldn't, though I have curbed on it since I was first on a forum. I apologize for what I said as it was uncalled for and I need to remember that. I want to live as a person who treats all with respect , so I feel bad for what I said.

Should've said misinformed or ignorant ,shouldn't I ?

@ Bolt, I figured to make the situation as complex as it would be in real life and in a way give a situation far more complex than the one that was in my psychology book.

It was too obvious and too rhetorical. Everyone in my class including me said they'd steal the medicine and would rather be in prison than have their wife die if they were him while some in another class said the doctor had a right.

Obviously most people would choose to break the law ,but there's studies which says that people are more comfortable in situations where they have to kill a few people for the whole if it is an indirect action.

It's interesting because since we have evolved as a cooperative species, we prefer not to be directly violent but rather indirectly. There's reasons of the appeal for the washing of Pontius Pilate's hands and why we feel anger and rage whenever someone indirectly hurts or kills those we love . We see it in many movies.

Eh... I hate guns big time. But my life's path isn't to be a politician. If there's a place for me to vote against civilians being strapped in public I'll vote.

Hunting... it's not for me, but hunting rifles and the such I can understand and even then I would prefer some strict rules and laws to keep things safe.

As for loving shoot 'em up movies? Well, that's easy. That's fiction. I enjoy a LOT of **** in fiction that I would not want in real life. Fiction... is fake. No one's hurt. It's just metaphors for heroic endurance and shows off incredible athletic feats and shows bad guys that do bad things getting what they deserve on a thematic level.

I have NO DESIRE to see real people die.

I'm not misinformed. I've heard all the arguments and whatnot.. I just vehemently do not agree with them because I value my safety and the safety of others.

Of course it wouldn't end crime, but it would help and be a good start.

It's not going to happen though. Unfortunately there's a long standing gun culture in America. I just hope myself, my loved ones and more innocent people pay the price for it.
