I'm looking for a small portable device for playing videos, but the more it can do the better...

So I've been looking around on youtube reviews but they don't really explain/show everything that it can do, or at least most of the ones I have seen anyways... Are just of looking at the device it self & the box :sly:

So my questions are

1
can it play video, like movies & dvds & what not, & can it play it well?
2
What is the video quality like , as decent as a portable dvd player or ?..
3
what kind of files can it play?
4
Can I just download some stuff from the pc, & copy it that way or does it need a special f ormat/to be converted too?.. Lets say I'm going to download some of TVNs subs to watch on it for example ...
5
Does it have a usb port?.. Can I just plug in a usb thumb drive into it (like the type KR W uses [example lol henshin psp!])
6
I can surf the net is there anything I can't /shouldn't do? Can I tweet or post on msg boards or buy, something off ebay or amazon or is that not safe?

uhmmm... That is all for now, don't really intend to use this for gaming much so I'm not really worried about any of that aspect of it just yet

7 Oh, I guess I would be interested to know if I'd be able to I'd assume I'd have to "hack" it or some such, but would I be able to play rom games on this thing some how?.. I'd get a kick out of playing old nintendo games among others on something like this :P

What is the diffference between a psp & a psp go?.. I went and looked at one in stores & played around with it... It looks alright but even at the stores they don't really have any information about what it all does, nor did they have any video or pictures or anything at all on it that I could check out other than some crap baseball game...

I did look through all the menu options though or at least those that I could figure out with no manual :S They wouldn't even take it off the little security thing that holds it in place for me so I could get a good feel for it in hand... I think that is something pretty darn important to be able to do for a hand held device :S

You can do everything and more with the PSP that you can NOT do with the PSP go.

Not entirely true.

The PSPGo supports the sixaxis/DS3 controller. It's useful if you want to output your games from the psp to your TV. Certain games on the regular PSP can do it, but it requires you to have a PS3 and a copy of whatever game the PSP version is paired to.

Generally speaking though, the PSP Slim (not 3000 model) is a better (and cheaper) option.

1. It can play videos well.

2. Quality depends on the file itself. If it's a good quality video, then it'll be good on the PSP too.

3. MP4s.

4. You'd need to convert it to .mp4.

5. It has a port for a Mini-USB to USB cable.

6. PSP browser tends to suck. So it's not really practical for alot of use, unless you just want to google the answer to a question or something.

7. You can hack PSPs. But I don't know much about it.

Which one are you talking about here?
