A couple of PSP questions

I honestly do NOT recommend the PSP Go. I heard that it doesn't use UMDs, and apparently, UMDs save more space in your memory card than downloading PSP games.

Correct. PSPgo isnt even supported by Sony themselves anymore. Stay away from it. There are great games such as Kingdom Hearts that wont be available on PSP Go. It's a failed experiment.

I say get a PSP original or wait for the PSP2. (which is rumored to be coming soon, possibly next year.)

It's the PSP's successor.
It is already in the hands of some dev's, like NetherRealm Studios.

It is said to have a similar external design to the GO, but with a UMD drive for backwards compatibility. It is also said to have "Touch-Sensitive" controls on the back of the handheld, The games may come on preloaded media cards (basically, they would come as memory sticks that you just put in and play, data would be stored on a internal HDD) and to have "Late-cycle PS2" level graphical capabilities.

No official word, but it is said to have a UMD drive specifically for Backwards Compatibility.

Sony has yet to formally announce it, and none of the dev's that have one are talking about it, but it is out there.

Actually, the reason it's not on the PSN was Disney refused to let SE release it if it was DDL-able. For some reason, they hate DDL. But yeah, the Go failed.
