I don't remember the name of it off the top of my head, but it was the one with the volcano and the thief used a real gun the hijack the bus tht Dana was on.

As I understand it, the episode has not aired on tv since it's initial airing in 2000.

Yeah, I've seen that episode. It wasn't banned, it's just not repeated. It's a bit more serious than most episodes, that's all.

And it's shown in the UK, so obviously it wasn't removed from the international package of Lightspeed.

That was the best episode ever I've seen.

Im not worried about it since I have the episode on the comp. But that's another thing. If they did release past seasons in boxed sets, I would hope that they werent cut or edited. I refuse to buy anything less than 100% uncut.

It was also a direct rip from Go Go V, which seems to only be acceptable when it was done by Judd Lynn, and is something he did a lot.

I would be very surprised if GV is ever mentioned again or seen again in the US.

As I recall, nothing of interest really happens in that episode so I wouldn't be against them cutting it from a season box set. Censorship sucks but the world is a different place now.

Well, you're right in a way. But my running theory is that the only reason people make it a point to say "PR should have more originality from Sentai" is because only until now do we have groups like TVN and websites like YouTube and P2P file sharing utilities like BitTorrent that people are able to see sentai and say "hey PR is actually following it closely!". Before, in the past, they didnt have this venue. So they didnt care because it was all "new" to them! Now they've seen the sentai and they say "I dont want to see it again!"

If you look, Lightspeed, Time Force, and Wild Force are almost direct clones off their sentai counterpart. They share almost identical episode plots, here and there.

But to be honest, I liked that form of Power Rangers. I like that they basically just follow what Sentai had done but add their own spin to it. This is why I loved SPD so much. It followed a lot of the Sentai episodic plots but added it's own spin on things. It was nice.

My philosophy for Power Rangers is "If you cant beat it, copy it". If you cant come up with a more interesting plot line for a character or episode, then why the **** do it? Just copy what Sentai did and improve upon that.
