-So Xander's a natural born leader. Hey, maybe he'll take over at the end of the season when Nick quits.
-I must say I liked how Nick calmly let Xander take over (although suggesting [and then following]) Phineas. It's just nice to see that Nick isn't a total rehash of Jack (despite all the "Whoooaaaaaahhh"s, and how they were the last to join the team) since if he were, he would have arrogantly yelled something like, "But I'm the red ranger, so I'm the leader!!!111"
-Nice to see Udonna actually doing something for a change with her scolding of Chip for not being serious. I wish it were a little more than that, but whatever.
-Why did they just decide to morph when they were in the quicksand? Wouldn't a spell have made more sense? Yeah, it wouldn't have worked, but it's not like they knew that when they morphed anyway.
-FINALLY, Phineas gets to be of some use. I knew it would come eventually. Now, hopefully, he'll be this useful in future episodes.
-Even though he went through the whole, "I guess a true leader knows when to follow" deal at the end, I hope we get more on Xander's "I don't need help" attitude later. Sure, it would be going backwards, but it's an interesting trait that could use a bit of exploring.
-The lack of consistency between who says the spells is really starting to bug me. It's not that big a deal, but I'd like them to choose what spells the disembodied voice says and what spells the rangers say.
-Yawn, another cut-down zord battle. I really hope this doesn't become a habit, especially when they start adapting later Magi eps, as they had some really good mecha battles.
Overall, 7/10. Nothing special.
But, hey, next week's ep looks like it has nothing to do with Nick. Yay! Oh, and despite her paleness, I must say, Vida was actually kind of cute in the promo.
