Maybe on the production side, but on the marketing side? That's an absolute NO.
I don't this thread to devolve into a debate on the merit of the individual seasons themselves, but if Disney can have kids watching old reruns of That So Raven on ABC Kids but can't get those same kids to stick around for Power Rangers, then who the frell do you think is to blame?! :eyebrow:
If you advertise it, they will watch it. Disney made crap like Hannah Montanna and Suite Life into sucess through the use of their marketing machine but they NEVER put that machine to work for Power Rangers. If they did, it would still sell like ponchos in a rainy Quebec summer!
Power Rangers used to be the number 1 toy for boys, it was only beaten once Transformers got a live action movie... how can you fail SO BADLY?! :sly:
not to mention that the toys never get released by the time they debut on the show which kills it because kids want new toys at the same time they debut like what japan does, they continue to make useless battlizer and bike figures, that wont sell because they are not on the show
not bothering to consentrate on dx main weapons from rpm like street saber, turbo cannon, zip charger etc.
Bandai tried really hard to please PR fans. Releasing collectors toys and sets, as well as many nice quality toys, trying to appeal to the older market. Little did they know that this crowd isnt profitable. No one buys toys or the dvds. The fans bitch but they do nothing to show financial support. They killed this franchise.
I doubt releasing a few Super Legends figure killed the franchise. But its not like the BoA toys are that great compared to the BoJ ones to begin with.
I would have bought a Morpher, even a Nitro Sword, but for some reasons Bandai didn't spring for bilingual packaging on those products so they can't be legally sold in my province -.-
I might buy the RPM DVDs though if they release the whole serie.
Remember, we don't know if they are waving the white flag on PR mechandise. Yes, It's hurting them but will they still have faith enough to continue the Fall line is the real question.
