Opinions on Cheat Devices

People cheat because no one wants to tell themselves they're not good enough for something sometimes. It's really the joy of being in control though, it's addictive. With GTA, you definitely feel like God.

I would say its mixed. In some ways people want a challenge, but if they already finished the game, why not mess around with it for fun, or while in it , why not push the limits of what the game can do?

Then there's another where people just want to have less a challenge [or cut out the useless bullcrap to get to the point] at times or bypass something that was made inaccessible like the Azure Flute.

Finally there are those who just do it for spite, aka cheating for cheating's sake, and that's kinda lame.

Just last night I finally convinced myself to get Skyrim for my PC and commence with the Mod obtaining. I don't feel it counts as cheating though since Bethesda gave the community the mean to create mods, just like they did with Oblivion. I've read (somewhere) that they love seeing the stuff the community comes up with, and man do they come up with some awsome stuff. Everything from simple patches to correct mistakes that Bethesda misses to huge quest lines and lore freindly gear. Of course some of the body mods are...interesting, but one particular has completely stunned me. It is a simple over all revamp of the facial feature that makes the character look more human. Now by human I mean more organic. They just look far more natural and I really like it. If I remember I will get a link for it so you can all see what I mean.

Then their are the Immersive Weapons and Armours sets, JaySuS Swords, and the Chrysamere quest which are all fantastic looking and very practical/lore friendly. So yeah...mods are awsome, though they could be considered cheats.

Definitely point me to where I can get these mods. I'm looking to get back into Skyrim, and do new things with my characters.

As long as you are not using mods that make you god mode.

Unless it affects other people online, who actually gives a ****?

People who attach personal morals to their gaming experience or who look at games as a challenge that need be defeated. The first is most common in individuals who enjoy Role Play, especially in RPGs. The second is in "sportsmen" or "Warrior" type players who search for challenges to overcome and look down on those that beat a scenario through the use of cheats. It comes down to different players looking at games in different ways. That doesn't give anyone the right to dog those that do use cheats, but alot of people feel like it does.

Dirp gentlefolk. Hirp as well.

See I don't care if people cheat. I have cheated. My only problem comes from people thinking they accomplished beating a game if they cheated to do so. That is just a personal thing for me, and I don't begrudge anyone for doing it. Some people have little time, so cheating is how they are able to see stuff.

A game I would cheat in is Mega Man X5. Now I have beaten this game without cheating. Why would I use a cheat device? Because the item placement is a bitch. To start off, Zero cannot get two life-ups because of this stupid Gaea Armor gimmick that has NO relevance to the game. I am of course talking about the V-Block. Zero can barely get two life-ups without the help of certain parts.

Speaking of parts, this game has the WORSE part system of all time in a Mega Man game. The way you earn parts is absolutely asinine. You can't get all sixteen parts, you must only earn eight. What comes with it is either a life-up or a weapon-up. So basically this game doesn't have 8 life-ups, but 16 of them and 8 weapon-ups. If you beat a boss at a certain level, you'll be greated with a life-up or a weapon-up. One of the two will make a certain part. Now why is this bullshit? Because you have to get yourself KILLED a bunch of times just so the bosses are at a certain level. On top of that, if it's a X part, it's going to always be from a life-up. Zero will be from a weapon-up. What bullshit is this? Why would Zero need a weapon-up when it's X who's weapons use energy. Zero only uses half. Zero's should be from a life-up since this game denies him of two heart tanks.

I was surprised to find out that Keiji Inafune had little to do with Mega Man X5, or otherwise this game would not have this bullshit of a part system. This is worse than Mega Man 8's part system. At least Mega Man 8 doesn't require you to kill yourself multiple times. As hated as the reploid-system in Mega Man X6, it's superior to the part system in Mega Man X5.

As for Mega Man X6, Ground Scaravich's stage is a nightmare to those who want to 100% this game. I kid you not, you'll most likely be spending hours in this game trying to collect all the reploids in that stage because of how poorly made it is.

Oh and Mega Man X7 is not escaping my wrath. No. This game wants you to kill yourself a bunch of times just so you can play as the MAIN CHARACTER.

I'm sorry for turning this into a rant on Mega Man X5, X6, and X7. But I want to cover why I would cheat in these games. I want to clarify that yes, I have beaten these games without cheating.
