Since you didn't put "both" on the poll, I'm gonna vote & say New Generation.:buttrock:
QFT!:buttrock:Third option: it's all good.
While I do have shows that I don't like I think really both generations have their pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses, and both can be too casually dismissed by folks who prefer one or the other. Worst of all by folks who think that anything that happened before they were born or before they started watching automatically sucks.
Also a lot of folks prefer 80's-modern suit design, to some I can agree with that if only because they can use better materials and make them much sleeker. However, I look at gaudy designs like Den-O or Ryukendo and suddenly the fact that Kikadas suit is a little baggy and has visible eyeholes doesn't seem that bad at all.![]()
There is no era that is flawless and perfect. No era that isn't lacking for something on one level or another. I do think you have trends that can negatively effect the material on occasion but at the end of the day all you really have is the shows themselves and some may be better done than others. There will be crap, and there will be awesome wether it's from 77 or 07.
Sure they were trying to sell toys, but it didn't seem to me to be as blatant as now.
Also, those were the days when ALMOST ALL heroes, whether anime or toku, had songs sung by the legends like Ichirou Mizuki, Mitsuko Horie, Isao Sasaki and some names I forgot
