well, if you increase the bitrate, it makes the gif smoother. it just might get very fast

and I should have said reduce the colour. like from 256 to 128. the amount of diffusion also matters a lot in these things

I made this 1 for Matrix's forum

under 64kb...and surprisingly, it didn't turn out that bad

It's possible...it's just that in order to make it possible the resulting GIF would have to be made with really small dimensions and/or a lower bitrate and/or colour scheme.



And just to keep people from asking over and over and over again, the short version of what happened last year is this:

- it started with a former member here who had Admin status and who was basically the de-facto "tech guy" here rigged HJU to look like it had gone down/crashed,
- it soon changed so that any members who went to/tried to log onto HJU were automatically re-directed to another site/forum on which this other member was an Admin/tech guy,
- Keith did not know that the ex-Admin guy was going to do this, so that, combined with stuff that was said on a bunch of threads that popped up on the other site/forum while HJU was "down" basically pissed him off like you'd never believe. The whole thing was undone after a day or two (can't remember how long it was, TBH) and from a technical standpoint, everything was "back to normal." However, Keith was still pissed off.
- As a result of that and some behind the scenes talks between him and those involved, the ex-Admin guy is gone and a couple other accounts/HJU members who were apparently in on it were temporarily suspended.


The moral of the story, boys and girls...do NOT try and pull an April Fools' prank on the guy that owns/runs the forum.
