Next super sentai theme

Wouldn't be that crazy, considering we had car themes with fairies and car constellations in the past



I think Liveman was the first with animal mecha, every other mecha before that we're vehicles, regardless of the suits theme.

What about a cat themed voltron/thundercats ripoff which each ranger representing a large cat species (lion,tiger,panther,cheetah,lynx,jaguar,bobcat,etc).

I'd honestly quite like to see another ninja themed sentai, I think it'd be interesting to see a ninja theme sentai with some heavier themes like the samurai/growing up theme in gaim.

But if I was just going to try and pull something out of thin air...hmmmm...I think it'd be interesting to see a sentai that was themed around a marauding band of warriors. I've always wanted to see a sentai where the individual suit designs had a bit more individuality while still being instantly recognizable as part of the team. In a way, story-wise, I'd imagine it sort of like gokaiger, in that the characters are a group who came together by convenience and common goals, and in doing that slowly build a bond.

Visually, what i mean with the suits is that they'd each have parts of their design that were unique, one would maybe a have a longcoat, some rings, and a sword, while another might have some kind of hat, a cloak or cape, and a staff, another might have a vest, a scarf, and some kind of gauntlet-weapon. Etc. Etc. With each of them taking on roles that were sort of like characters from rpg's. The lone swordsmen who doesn't talk much and has a tortured past, the cocky hand to hand fighter who just came along to show off, but secretly has alot at stake, the mysterious mage, imparting through stories and guidance, the healer with a secret power they dont yet understand, all that kinda good stuff. I even think this could bring a cool idea to the collectible angle, they could have the items they use in the show based off rpg items. Things like hp and mp potions, a teleportation item, a few instruments, some weapon upgrades, maybe even armor upgrades, items that boost stats, keys, various loot.

That's a damn good idea!:thumbs: I think it would be pretty sweet if they did an insect theme/motif since Kamen Rider isn't using it at the moment but I doubt that would ever happen. The Goraigers are the only ones I can think of that used an insect theme. I think it would work as an entire team though.

RPG-themed sentai seems fun and interesting Maybe they could have a "main quest" to wipe out the villains, and for extra random monsters they could be side quests. Every time they successfully complete a "quest", they'll earn "karma" aka XP and become stronger (level up) when enough are done

Then they could sell the idea to an MMO company to make an MMORPG off it.

I remember before Shinkenger came out, the most wanted motif for a Sentai was easily a samurai motif. After Shinkenger though, the most wanted motif from what I've noticed..... maybe western/cowboys?

I also kinda like the thought of a Medieval style motif, with knights and kingdoms. But done in a modern setting in Japan (like what Shinkengers did with samurai).

Story should be based on the Hundred Years' War!! (I've been playing too much Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions )

I thought of a super sentai theme something that was never used before,
Some machine robot theme in which the main sentai team will have themselves turn into human like robots which is the their sentai forms:

The theme for the future sentai series might be a robot/machine theme just like transformers you see the villain group might be a machine like empire like the ones in ohranger and go onger.
The main 5 team will have a transformation like trinket which might look like their sentai forms in a action figure type way and when they click on it they are inside their transformation trinket and then it grows turning them into their sentai alter egos .They will together form into a fused version of a finishing move like having a sentai team member turn into a piece of a finishing move and then attach together turning into a complete finishing machine plane like thing to kill the enemy before growing into a monster .
The sentai team will grow giant and then transform into their super forms which is their mecha form similar like bullblack and Gosei knight before they turn into a giant mecha ,the red sentai mecha will summon a object and then let it split apart turning them into pieces of the main mecha so that the sentai mecha members will let themselves be inserted into the piece of the mecha and form into a mecha robot piece causing them to fuse together into a main mecha and will change into any color under the leadership of any sentai member for example if it is commanded by a red sentai member then the main combined mechas color change into red and if it is commanded by a blue sentai member if its episode focus on him then his main mecha change into blue with the other members switch and inserted into any different mecha parts ,Their cockpit will be located in the head of the main mecha.
The sixth sentai member (like any extra hero sentai member) will have a similar transformation trinket like the main ones but his moves will be different such as his own finishing move which is different that themes sentai’s finishing moves when he transforms into a missile like thing to finish the enemy. And his mecha form where he will grow giant will be his own main mecha only .
The Final mecha combination will the combination the red sentai controlled mecha and the sixth sentai mecha turning into a final super mecha.
If a Japanese user of this forum or a toei writer will look at my ideas of both rider and sentai ,I hope he can make it as the official future theme of a future kamen rider and super sentai series.

Aquatic animals theme, but using animal themed vehicles for the mecha rather than actual robotic animals. This is mainly because I want to see black and white rangers with orca and shark themed helicopters :sweat:

I also like the idea of a dragon themed Sentai (eastern dragon, western dragon, hydra, wyvern, basilisk?). I had thought it was a non-starter because all the mechs would be long thin shapes and that would be difficult to make into a combining robot, but they've just done it with trains, so hey, why not?

If it comes to re-using previous themes, the two I'd like to see return (though not together in the same series) are birds and ancient civilisations. The bird idea is just because I'd love to see them have mecha that looked less like jets with beaks painted on the front and more like the falcon zord (although Sentai seems to be going back towards simplified individual mecha so it seems unlikely). The idea of having each team member themed after the warrior of an ancient civilisation would be cool (Red Samurai, Yellow Jaguar Warrior, Blue Centurion etc), although I guess you'd have to take a mythical beast from each civilisation's mythology to use for the mecha.

Hmmm, I wouldn't go as far as saying they wouldn't. Take Gokaiger for example. Pirates isn't a very Eastern theme, but as we know Gokaiger is one of the best Sentai series ever made.

I think the Wokou would disagree. And I'm not even touching the "one of the best" claim. :eyebrow:

I agree. Even if it doesn't use it, Kamen Rider has so thoroughly done the concept of an insect themed tokusatsu show and toku fans tend to have such rose-tinted glasses that you wouldn't be able to hear the characters talk over the cries of "Rider did it better!"

You have no idea how dissapointed I was to see this on the first page of the thread and then find out that the other two pages weren't people talking about how awesome that would be. A slightly more serious Sakigake!! Otokojuku, or just the Oendan games with maybe the chief from EBA. Heck, all you'd have to do is take the Chief's costume from the Go-busters V-Cinema and slap like a handlebar mustache on Hideo Sakaki and BAM, there you go.

Granted, I'm running on two hours of sleep so maybe thats just silly.

Also, I'm imagining a 3 person all male sentai, which I think I remember reading tested really poorly while Sun Vulcan was on so thats why they always at least have 1 girl these days. Of course, theres no reason we couldn't have a team of rival's who take their inspiration from Western Cheerleaders. Like a cross between the Gouraigers and Miu from Fourze. Then we would have a traditional five man sentai.

They could even do the cheers while they transform. It wouldn't look any sillier than a samba dance, and we could still have the kids send in video of themselves dancing at home.
