New UC Gundam series?

Gundam Unicorn is a novel that'll appear in Gundam Ace Magazine. Unless Tomino animates a new UC series, UC as an anime story is over...

Thought so. And thank god, UC just needs to end ^_^

..and I still haven't seen Seed yet. Prolyl will just borrow the compilation movies and be done with it as I don't have the time or money to get all the individual volumes.

The only ones not letting the UC go are the diehard old schoolers, but they'll never win. And your best bet is to purchase the compilation movies. It sets Destiny up better than the series did

Then Destiny does a perfect job of dropping its own ball.

If anyone wants UC, all they're going to get are those UC CGI OVAs that have been coming out over the last year or two. I doubt we'll ever see another series, at least not one involving the original conflict.

Oh, I'm fine with the UC universe ending (no more lame "side stories"). It's just that I want to see a GOOD Gundam series. The only non-UC Gundam series I can actually watch is G Gundam.

What about Gundam X? Or arguably the best Gundam ever, Turn-A Gundam? I don't consider it to be UC but it's better than anything UC ever gave us.

You guys realize UC is not just the original series (0079), but also the 0080, 0083, and 08th MS? (along with a few insert and side stories) There was a lot flushed out of the original idea for a one year war and the key players in it. Seed has really been the only one to try and continue itself, and as one post so elequently put it (and many agree) it dropped the ball. So I say UC is on the whole more successful in longevity and depth than any of the AC storylines.

X is terribly underrated, t'was an awesome show when I saw it (Got to see it when it was in TV thanks to a friend and the wonders of tape trading ^_^). Two words that demonstrate how much this show rocked; Harmonica Cannon ^_^

Turn-A was amazing and IMO, it's where the Universal Century really ends. There's actually a very well done fan-made timeline where it shows how every series up to X fit in and how it led to the CC Era. I'll try finding it for you guys but it makes total sense when you see it.

I'm trying to track down Gaia Gear so I can finally give that a proper listening to but it sucks that it was invalidated by Bandai (Tomino made it without their permission).

And I just may give the movies a shot to see what happens. Is Seed Destiny SE the same way?

They cut out a lot of the unneeded fat of the second half of the series, when Kira and Athrun became the unstopable gods, basically dropping all character development Athrun and every other character got shoved aside. The sad thing is that up until episode 38 or so, Destiny really was one of the best series I had ever seen...then they gave into fans who just want Wing style action and pretty boys.

Gaia Gear was the manga right? I found it for sell once a few years back, but it was pretty damn expensive.

I'll have to give those a shot then. God I hated Wing (or as I call it, Emo Mobile Livejournal Entry Gundam Wimp) -_-

Maybe you're thinking of Crossbone Gundam which was the actual sequel to F91. Gaia Gear was a series of novels later turned radio plays that Tomino did without Sunrise/Bandai's permission. They then declared these invalid and non-canon but there's nothing that was presented in Victory or F91 that contradicts the events so most fans consider it a semi-official side story.

You can get the drama CDs and novels really cheap on Amazon of all places but the novels are hella hard to track down, especially with Sunrise wanting nothing to do with it.
