New to Sentai

My 1st sentai was Magiranger; I even watched it twice cos it was so good!

Maybe its the animal thing getting to me. I dont mind a new jet or car being introduced every 3 episodes if that was the marketing item. I do perfer older series since they arent so heavy into the marketing and the general quality of things is just a lot better. Maybe Maskmen? Ill most likely finish Gao though.

Is there any reason you haven't downloaded Dairanger? I think you said several times that it's the thing that got you interested in Sentai, and just about everyone here has recommended it... is it just the subs thing that holds you back?

yeah its the lack of subs. Otherwise I wouldve just jumped right in. Im not so sure about watching raws.

I'm pretty sure TVN is subbing Dairanger? It's not completed yet but those awesome people are on it!

Magiranger's not a bad series, but if you find Gaoranger to be camp and don't like that sort of thing, theeeeen it probably won't be the show for you. I still say giving Gekiranger a try would be good. It's a little camp, but it comes together to be a rather good story in the long run.

Or you can try Boukenger too, seems that has a rather strong following.

Do you mean the Infershia or the heroes? Because the latter is far from even decent.

I don't dislike Boukenger (though I can't say I like it as much as I used to) and even I wouldn't recommend it to a first-time viewer.

Well I realize I won't have the same taste as everyone and more than anything, I like getting people exposed to the genre, even if it's with a series I personally dislike, there's something for everyone. Lord knows I still scratch my head at people who like Go-Onger, but hey, they're out there.

First off, Dai was my first Sentai I watched raw back in 2003 and I can definitely tell you that the show is not hard to follow at all. There are some moments that you will be confused on, but 90% of the show can be understood very easily. However, Nihon has released like the first 29 episodes subbed, so you have enough to keep you occupied for a bit.
