New to Sentai

Hey Everyone I am new to this board and new to Sentai. I have watched Hurricanger fully and really enjoyed it. I have watched up to Episode 33 of Abareranger and gave up as the characters were interesting but the story was blah. Sorry If I'm rambling I am a little shy and dont know what to really say.

I personally don't see what the appeal was in Hurricanger. It's just a watered down Liveman with a more random premise.

You should definitely check out Flashman, Liveman, Jetman, Dairanger, GoGoV and Timeranger. Changeman, Maskman, Turboranger, Fiveman, Kakuranger and Gingaman I would recommend as well.

Because it's a Hirohisa Soda Sentai and those are almost guaranteed to be good.

Granted Fiveman isn't as good as Changeman-Turboranger, and the second half pales in comparison to the first half, but it's still a decent watch. Better than some more recent shows at the very least.

That's great that got a chance to watch Hurricangers & Aba Rangers. For me, I never got arount to them yet. If you love Hurricangers, good for you.

Hi. HJU can be a little jarring, but don't let that scare you away. If I were you, I'd give Dairanger and also Gekiranger a try. Lots of fans love both of these.

Welcome to the club Petra. The "heisei Riders suck" is over on the left, the "80's sentai vs modern sentai" is down the hall on the right. "where's the Ultraman love" is just around the corner next to "**** yeah! Winspecker!", you can't miss it.

As for good sentai, my suggestions are: Bioman, Changeman, Flashman, Liveman, Jetman, Dairanger, Kakuranger, Megaranger, Gingaman, GoGoV, Timeranger, Abaranger, Magiranger, Gekiranger and I'll throw in Shinkenger just to see how you feel about it.

Just because Soda wrote the show doesn't mean diddly. Sure the guy is the Pen-ultimate Sentai Writer but he made just as many duds as others in the feild. Maskman was just wasted potential, Fiveman was even more wasted potential, Dynaman was okay but could have easily been worked out more, and he wrote probably the worst sentai ever IMHO: Goggle V.

Certainly his acheivements outweigh his failings but not everything he wrote was gold.

Like I said, Fiveman isn't his best work. But it is his last Sentai and seemed like a collection of his previous storylines rolled into one final show. Better that than had he continued going on and made worse shows than Fiveman (like Inoue has arguably done with Rider). I would still recommend it over Magiranger and Shinkenger, for example. Now those (the latter particularly) are wasted potential.

I agree with Sage. The dude is new still aswell, I say we direct him to Gekiranger first.

I've never watched Sentai either. Dairanger however looks really good, I randomly watched a clip. Anyone know where I can DL it?
