"Shocker Gundan, Banzai!"
*throws up hands* I don't believe this. the whole point of this thing being delayed, according to you, was so the subtitles would be accurate enough, and now you're telling us that we've been waiting all this time and nothing has even been DONE!?!?!?!
I've been waiting twenty-five years for a subbed version of SILVER MASK, so get in line.
But, more importantly, don't misquote me. I never said SILVER MASK was delayed "so the subtitles would be accurate." Get your facts straight before posting. I wasn't an employee at BCI; I worked for Cliff McMillan as a commissioned writer, so I wasn't privy to what their decisions were, nor was I a part of any decision-making policies in regards to their business affairs.
Now, to set the timeline (and facts) straight, I said that RED BARON was pushed back so I could have enough time to work on the subs, so they wouldn't be a rush job. So, it went from a December 2007 release to a April 2008 release. After RED BARON was done, Cliff had a lot more releases than just SILVER MASK and FIGHT! DRAGON to release, so these titles were pushed back to Spring and Summer 2009.
They were pushed back because of slow sales of BCI's Japanese titles, including IRON KING; and over the last two years, BCI apparently failed to turn a profit, so they began to re-think their release dates and pole positioned more "known" titles. Since FIGHT! DRAGON was put before SILVER MASK, work on the latter was put on the back burner. This past August, I received all of the check discs for FIGHT! DRAGON, so I could begin work on that set (which was set for Spring 2009).
Just a couple of weeks after I got the deadline for FIGHT! DRAGON in November, the main corporate company which owned BCI/Eclipse, decided, because of downturning economy, to shut down the label.
What Navarre does with their remaining and unreleased titles remains to be seen.
