Yes, I met him at the now defunct Toho Built Studios, where they shot most of the Showa and all of the Heisei Ultra Series (the movies are shot at Nikkatsu Studios). The day that photo was taken, we just finished having lunch together (bento boxes) while watching rushes for the episode they were shooting -- "The Phantom Planet" -- everyone was very cool and laid back.

I was on the set of the series, and the movie (TIGA & DYNA), over the course of several days in Fall of 1997... and met most of the cast members:

I wrote an illustrated story about my 1997 set visits for Issue 20 of Asian Cult Cinema magazine, IIRC.
