Most Underrated Sentai Series

Sentai Bioman - I grew up with that sentai (they showed it in France and also in Belgium where I live) - you got to love the giant Mecha - it was also a change from the normal monster of the week (with the combination of 3 generals and 5 underlings)

Flashman and Liveman were also very good

I hear a lot of different opinions on Liveman with people arguing about whether it's over- or under- rated or neither, why do you say it's underrated? I'm interested

"this Red is rubbish and looks like a girl"

I laughed at that for some reason. hahaha.

Well I would say Goseiger is very underrated. I think it may also have to do with being stuck in between Shinkenger and Gokaiger. Shinkenger is considered to be very good from what I've seen. I have yet to watch it though. Then Gokaiger is the anniversary series with the ranger keys and such, so two popular series sandwiching Goseiger may be a reason it was looked down upon.

I grew up in the 80's (in Belgium) - I first watched spectreman, San ku kai and then space sherrif gavan - and next came bioman, flashman and liveman. I can honestly say that as a kid I really liked the monsters - the were evil looking and more then a guy with a mask and a suit (as for example spectreman and what you call "message from space" - in europe it was popular butcalled "San Ku kai").

For Liveman I liked the idea that it started out as one big group of people but a few of them went rogue - and then evil. Also you still have a lot of characters that change their ways - I don't know their names anymore but the thug that gets turned into an evil doctor sacrifices himself in the end. Also the nerd guy who loved animals but became evil because everybody picked on him - and then turns good again later in the series.

What is also very important is that in france everything started with Bioman and the later sentai series were presented as Bioman 2 and Bioman 3. So for us it was all one giant serie about giant robots and monsters. the host of the show "dorothee" als had cameo appearances in later tokusatsu's (Ninja Giraya and Liveman)

Even though i did not particularly enjoyed Goseiger, i admit that it has its good points: the story and the villains are pretty good, the music is great and the overall monster designs are quite something.

Honestly the only real problems the show has are the actors/characters that remain so bland they bring everything else down, and the Header Toy gimmick which is like, really really dumb.

It is been a while after i watched the show, and after some pondering i have come to think that Goseiger can be quite enjoyable IF you have the right mindset when coming to it.

While i am at it let me present my case pro Go-onger.

I know a lot of people hate this show, and while i can agree that the show´s plot is basically a joke and the characters have no depth whatsoever, i think those aspects do not refrain from the enjoyment of the show given his shamelessly campy nature.

There is no denying it, Go-onger is the campiest super sentai season ever, and if you enjoy campy then this can be an incredibly enjoyable season.

Personally i didn´t like the show that much at first, but after 12 episodes or so i got used to its style and really came to enjoy its humor, and once you spend a decent ammount of time laughing at these characters they start to grow on you. By the time the show was ending i really didin´t want to say goodbye, and i will never regret the time i spent with these characters.

So basically, if you want mindless campy fun, Go-onger is the show for you.

super ! I love saturdayman - I love the'80's refs, the sounds, the game footage (how did they do it?) and everything! Also as a first (for Belgium) I think it's much better then the first episode of France Five. I hope they make more then one episode.

Now to start a tokusatsu in dendermonde :)

Afaik they got a contract for french television. Some local french channel. It won't be aired in Belgium though.

Blegh. I still haven't seen Shinkenger yet, but I found myself with plenty of reasons to dislike Goseiger from watching it.

It was okay, especially towards the end, at which point it was almost even good, but I think the dislike is at least a little justified.
