MASS EFFECT - TalkbacK [NO SPOILERS!!!!!]

I started out as a Vanguard, but restarted my game once I got my new TV and am using a Soldier. It is a WORLD of easier, cuz I was the same. Most times I forgot I had biotic powers and am still not totally sure I know how to use them.

Well this kinda sucks. I've recently wanted to start playing Mass Effect. But I can't get it, for fear of Dayna picking it up as a Xmas gift :disappoin

Im a vanguard currently. I always forget about my powers. but I want to stick with it just to be a little different. That and I definitely dont want to do everything all over again

I just wanted to go on record as saying that KotOR was full of bugs, but it was still one of the best games I've ever played, so a lot of bugs is one of those things I expect from a huge Bioware RPG now. I was bummed to hear that Mass Effect has more game-breaking bugs (like getting stuck in geometry, those drill things spawning underneath you, both from the Gamespot review), but at least I won't be shocked when something bug-related happens.

It's too bad to hear that Biotic powers are so easy to forget to use, I was thinking of going Vanguard (because, I mean, c'mon.), but now I might go Infiltrator (Disable shields, open containers, turn robots to your side, plus get sniper rifles). Anyone try the tech powers yet?

my boy picked it up last night and we started playing.....why does your main character start out with not one melee attack? it's infuriating! we got stuck for alittle while trying to disable the charges on that one mission and kept getting wiped out because my sqaud kept getting gung ho when i kept telling them to take cover! it was crazy! i had to keep pulling out the shotgun on aliens to keep them from etting PWNed!!!

oh, did i mention this game is fucking awesome?

I think they just take getting use to.. the biotic powers. The game comes off as such a third-person shooter that you're just not used to choosing powers like this or directing squad. But I found a second play through the beginning MUCH easier with the Soldier and directing my squad also got easier. I can see myself playing through this again as Vanguard. And since I'll be used to using my squad mate's biotic abilities, then I should be more comfortable with using my own.

Managed to pre-order the game day before it came out and score myself a copy on release. Been able to give the game a little attention (Phoenix Wright 3 and Assassin's Creed and Dynasty Warriors Gundam are also taking up some of that attention ) and it is AWESOME.

I totally didn't expect it to play like a shooter. Took some getting used to but I'm really starting to love it, just gotta remember I have abilities that I can use. Don't suppose there is a way to hot key them?

Oh, and I went with Soldier. Felt like a good way to ease into the game. I'm definitely going to have to replay this game a few times. I can't decide what characters to have in my party and I want to play with them all so...multiple playthroughs!
