Lost Galaxy's Japanese Fanbase

Wasn't Gingaman one of the highest rated Sentai shows in the past 20 years or so?

Gingaman did pretty well, yeah.

More than that, the current season is recycling really heavily from Gingaman. Why reuse elements from a show that allegedly did so poorly that people liked Lost Galaxy better, even though PR in Japan ran in a terrible 4AM-ish timeslot?

I can buy that maybe certain diehard fans who watched both Lost Galaxy and Gingaman may have liked LG better, but it seems dubious to say that most fans in general felt that way. Most fans in general probably didn't even watch LG.

And after looking at the LQ review and having Watched Gingaman so far, Gingaman is the superior one in my opinion.

So let me get this straight: you watched all of one series and somebody's review of another, and from that review you decided that the one you DID watch was better? HUH?

That being said, however, Lost Galaxy did suck pretty bad, at least the first half anyway, which was fucking unwatchable.

Oh, that makes sense. I was really confused by that.

I'm also really confused by this whole Gingaman/Lost Galaxy thing. Most of the reasoning that Lost Galaxy was so successful is that Gingaman did poorly in Japan, and they're so radically different (well, not really). But if that's not the case...

But then, even if Gingaman did well, I guess I could still see Lost Galaxy still doing as well, just because of how different they are (at the surface at least). Isn't Dragon Knight doing better in Japan than Ryuki did? And, ****, unlike Lost Galaxy, Dragon Knight got much WORSE during the second half.
