I have just discovered GogoV, and have watched a third of the episodes, choosing key arc episodes ; reading the previous comments, I think I don't have a lot to add; the siblings relationship, the parallel between the heroes family and the villains family; the whole family theme in the series.
However, based on what I've seen, some observations:
- the villain design, either main villains or monsters of the week: in my opinion, GogoV has the scariest-looking villains in a Sentai; I can't believe kids who watch them don't have nightmares; the paradox is that the villain I've found the scariest is the cute looking Drop (young Salamendes), who is as evil as his siblings despite being very cute.
- Grandienne is one of the most despicable villains ever; it does mean something when you feel sorry for her demon children, and how horribly she treats them, even if these same children are pretty evil themselves; examples: Venus and Zylpheeza's deaths
- Even if I don't like the suit design, especially the helmet design (one of the ugliest ever) the fact that you can see the heroes's faces through the visor is a good idea.
- The music is gorgeous, and often scary and creepy as hell, which is great, and enhances the dark tone of the series.
- the heroes and their father are really likable, and their relationship is interesting
- I like a lot the design of the vehicle based mecha, either the rescue vehicules, or the train.
From what I've seen, a pretty good sentai.
