Kamen Rider Wizard - News/Rumors/Pictures Thread Part 2

Toei very rarely casts actresses over the age of 20-21 at the oldest any more. They seem to think that after that age all women turn into shrivelled hags. Like back in the day it was supposedly accepted that any woman over 25 was too old to get married ...

Medusa's actress is 16 IIRC and Phoenix's actor is 24-25 (can't remember, would have to look it up again) but he looks way older than that, I could almost buy them as father and daughter

Ya know, it may be that those ages are all that show up for auditions or are the only ones willing to take the parts. Let's face it, getting involved in Kamen Rider is inviting at least some chance of being type casted, and I doubt many mature or experienced actors or actresses are willing to take the risk. That or they are too young and reckless to care and just want some money and exposure.

Also Kamen Rider is a kids show, so it makes alot of sense for them to bring in younger actors and actresses. It is also alot cheaper then trying to get folks with more experience.

I don't think that's the case for all the older and experienced actors Kamen Rider has had. Every year.

Just throwing it out there as a semi-valid argument to oppose some earlier comments. I'm that sort of man. You are right though, there will always be exceptions, and exceptions to the exceptions. In other words; should we really be thinking that hard about it? The answer is yes since this may be the only inteligent conversations any of us have tonight.

Tokus are mostly used for those who are trying to get into the acting biz in Japan.

I was about to bring up how the actress who plays Rinko (the police detective) seems to have a bit of a career behind her, when I looked closer at her bio and realized she was born in 1992. She's a year younger than me.

Wat.

Either I suck at judging age based on appearance, or I'm getting old already :disappoin

(No offense meant to her, she's a beautiful woman.)

I'd give one of my kidneys to act in any Kamen Rider. But then again, I'm a toku freak, and can't act... Neither am handsome.

lol You'r'e joking right...

I was born in..wtf.

I'd say Agito and Kuuga were really grimdark, but they had their fair share of humor. I mean, Shoichi played tennis against Hikawa with a frying pan and Godai every 3 episodes would be like "Hey look Oya-san, it's my new Kuuga buckle belt!" and Oya-san would just be 'Kuuga? What's that?'

I also don't think Kijima was really that funny. He was a good villain and did his job, but I didn't find him funny. I liked him a lot and the rakugo character works fine, but yeah..not really funny haha.

Wizard isn't going to be grimdark lol. But I hope it has some of the smart humor that Hibiki had.
