Bravo, I guess?Agreed. It doesnt mean to jump on board right now, it takes time. Especially with the horrid tv prices. But I think ppl will got HD before 3D.
Again, the only complainers I see are those who cannot afford the actual ****....
It's not there. The tech is simply not there. There is not enough benefit for the financial expenditure. The reasons are right posted above. If you want I can link to those at Engadget, Wired, Gizmodo, and others who agree. They certainly don't have to worry about money. As I'm certain many of us do not. (I'm assuming that the median age on the board is slightly higher than 20)
That's not even going into the fact that while 62% of Americans now own and HDTV, only half of that number actually watch HD programming on it. UK? 56% on an HDTV, but a staggering 91% only watch standard def content. Blu-Ray? 7% of Americans own a Blu-Ray player. 9% own a PS3. The PS3 & Blu-Ray came out in 2006. HDTV was 2001-2002? The only reason so many people own an HDTV is they cheap and everywhere.
There's a difference between throwing money away, and spending it on worthwhile tech. 3D television in the home, as it stands, is not worthwhile tech. It's not cheap, there aren't any universal standards, and frankly, it's mostly a gimmick to squeeze out a bit more money. It has a few more applications in gaming and movie theatres (how can use tech relying on those cheap little cardboard polarized glasses), but that's the best torchbearer they got.
