I just didn't get why he had to use the receptacle to store the expended cell metals if he was just going to toss them to the ground anyway?

How else was he going to hold on to them until he used them?

Also wouldn't using the cells to fight decrease is over all amount and take even longer to fulfill his contract?

Interestingly enough because they are using a more realistic design with Birth the way he carries around his medals is very realistic.

You misunderstand, I meant why would he put the receptacle at the front of the gun after loading it, to store the cell medals that had been expended after they were fired? He just dumps those cells on the ground anyway instead of dropping them in another container. It would save him time to just let the cell medals get ejected from the gun like a normal firearm would.

Just like he realistically pulled his gun out of thin air.
Don't take it that seriously now!

Toy reason. A collector would not take kindly to shooting his medals to play with the gun. It's a form of compromise between the show and the toy.

:hmm:, makes sense.

So...Joji Nakata (the narrator) is the BirthDriver's voice?

I have to agree with this. The OOO series just loves pulling their weapons out of hammerspace. The sword was one thing, but this was the entire gun. It's like "you're not even trying to hide it, are you?"
