Kamen Rider OOO - Talk Up!

Ya know, all this talk of "Den-O done right" and "Ryotaro done right" kinda irritates me. Den-O was great and so was Ryotaro. saying "____ done right" is just belittling and annoying. Den-O was not in the wrong. on the contrary, it's immense popularity, especially in Japan, where the target audience is, says that it was very much in the right. Not only that, but let's not forget that after Takeru Sato's role as Ryotaro, his career shot off like a rocket, so obviously he did things right too
Kamen Rider have been a career rocket for all title Riders, look at Odagiri, Takamasa, Kento, Tsubaki, Mizushima and Koji.

The "done right" just means that people like it better than Den-O. Nobody should like things simply because they're popular.

You snapped first.

There are a lot of things people liked more then Den-O.:redface2:

Working off the idea that W incorporated a lot of Showa ideas and OOO is looking like it'll incorporate a lot of Heisei ideas, I'm thinking they're doing it in the right combination.

Just on the first ep so far, it looks like it utilizes many of the tropes and cliches pioneered Den-O on while mixing in themes that haven't really shown up much outside of Kuuga-Blade.

And by right combination, I mean I'd think it much more entertaining to see a series with Kuuga-like themes applied to a Den-O type atmosphere rather than Den-O-like themes applied to a Kuuga type atmosphere (though it might be hilarious as a one shot.)

I mean, seriously...the police acting as a police force? Haven't seen that in ten years! Here's hoping we get another robocop, even if for one episode.

I doubt a lot of the western toku fans like Den-O, it's going over the top and the movies isn't making it better.

A series like W, Agito and Kuuga, and probably quite a few others can "easily" be made into multiple movies.

Kuuga, Agito and W all share the open ending.

I think Den-O is just very difficult to understand especially among western audiences because its really beyond what we are used to considering that it was aimed at really young audiences, but i think anyone with a child's imagination can find that series lots of fun.

So i just saw the premiere of O's FINALLY! And here are my thoughts:

C-The theme song will take getting used to, not that i don't like it, its just hard to let go of the W-B-X of Double.

Just listen to it a couple hundred of times... Not too hard. That or put the song on infinite loop, although having the song loop in your head subconsiously isn't always a good thing. Even. When. You're. Not . Listening. To. It.

Actually it's Coming Up OOOs/Os :loltongue:

I kinda thought the same thing too, but someone pointed it out that it was "Kamen Rider OOOs" instead. Upon multiple hearings, it kinda sounds like it too, except the guy rapping is doing real fast you kinda miss hearing him saying the word "Rider".

I still don't get why Greed is spelled with three e's?

Oh wait....OOO EEE....god damn it.:redface2:

I don't know. I'm from Ire;and, not known for its cultural awareness, and I adore Den-O. I found it funny, I enjoyed the fights, I found the relationships were developed so they felt real and I think it handled the serious aspects (and there were plenty. Yuuto's entire story. Hell, the fact that winning essentially handed a death sentence to the Imagin, or so it seemed at the time) very well.

However, I would suggest this discussion has become "defend/attack Den-O". Perhaps a topic shift?

I half suspect Ankh to be the final villain at this point.
