According to my Cultural Pluralism class, calling women "dudes" and "man" and "you guys" is sexist and a facet of patriarchy...for some reason.

Personally, I don't think it matters, and it's kind of obnoxious when girls say "UH, I'M NOT A 'DUDE'!" when i call them that.

If a girl really didn't want to be called "dude" I wouldn't call her that. I personally welcome it, though. It is just such a fun word, I don't want to be denied having it applied to me just because I lack a penis.

I hope that your class at least allows some lively discussion of these things, instead of just telling you what's sexist and what's not. :(

So how 'bout dat OOO, eh? :P

I'm looking forward to the next ep, if only to see what they're planning on doing with this puppet-carrying inventor dude. I wonder if he's going to become a friend of Gotou's, the two of them working behind Kougami's back with Birth or something (if inventor dude turns out to be the one who develops Birth) :hmm:

Ain't this a fun discussion ... BTW, I'm not trying to limit myself, but I usually don't call a female "dude" unless she's someone who's a close enough friend... :anime:

Personally, I'm more interested in why he's carrying that puppet with him?

really? those words are considered sexist? lol thats funny, but i can understand. i usually call my group whether its filled with boys or girls at the time, guys. its a general term for me. obviously yes its based off of men. but so are any other words that relate to females except for girls. if girls dont want to be called it, i wont call them it. but honestly in a world filled with racism, sexism and so on and so forth, the day people stop overreacting and caring about it, is the day racism and sexism stops.
