Kamen Rider Kuuga - Talkback

Sage, what did you think of the Bike stunts that Kuuga did in ep 4 or 5. Driving up the stairs and on those small tight areas with such great ease?.

I remember when I first saw that in 2000, My jaw hit the floor and stayed there for about 10 minutes. Kuuga has some excellent stunt work.

My favorite scene is in ep 10 when Kuuga gets his Titan Form, Rock music kicks in, and Kuuga stabs the **** outta the Grongi. :buttrock:

Well, I thought about how hard that had to have been, but basically I just wanted him to hop off the bike and beat the **** out of that Grongi. Just jump over there and do a Mighty Kick to end it. :buttrock: :buttrock:

As far as ep. 10...sshhh!!! I'm just getting to that episode!

Going off to watch yet more Kuuga right now. I'm already nearly 1/5th of the way through...if this keeps up I'll be watching Ryuki before I watch Agito.

New question. The Belt seems to be intuitive, a bit. Like when he was trying to figure out Dragon Form, and got his ass kicked the first episode, then in the second half transformed again and went straight to Dragon Form instead of having to go from human to Mighty and then to Dragon. Is the belt smart/sentient, or do they just not deal with that. It sort of seems like they're trying to a little, but I cannot tell due to shitty subs.

I think they were trying to depict that Godai was still getting the hang of having to manually Cho Henshin, but I believe in most cases the belt changes to the form most suitable for fighting whatever Grongi he's against. Like when he turned Dragon for the first time, the Grongi he was fighting was one of the grasshopper ones, so he had to be quick and agile to catch him.

Okay, I just finished 18 and...damn. That's the most sissy way to go down. By some loser "kiss" monster. The preview makes it sound like he got seriously fucked up and comes close to death, but I know he's coming back 'cause he's awesome like that.

17's "recapness" annoyed the **** outta me, but I LIKE the Gouramu alteration to the bike. Of course I liked the bike when it just changed colors. I just wanna know why the bike stopped when he was fighting that one Grongi, and why the armor just fell off when he went back to normal?

All that is explained as the show progresses.

Man I love Kuuga. I rewatched a few episodes from the end last night and it's all so wonderfully dramatic. Of all the Toku I tend to just rewatch bits and pieces of at random, it's usually Kuuga, V3, or Black.

Okay, new question. In episode 24 (I think), Kuuga's Titan Form got some yellow stripes and the sword got this yellow bit attached to it, making it longer. Is that Rising Titan form, or something else?

Speaking of the Rising Forms...when do those first show up, if not now? It seems like the Grongi are getting much stronger.

Hai that is Kuuga Rising Titan form, and they all appear after that in reverse order of when he got the other forms...next I believe is Rising Pegasus, so on and so forth. Plus it's gold stripes...not really yellow.

Watching 34 now. First off.....DAMN Kuuga's new bike is bad-ass!! Also, I gotta say I loved all the fights with the bike Grongi. (I take it he was supposed to be an homage to the original KR, what with the red scarf and all.)

A couple questions:

-What the hell is up with the explosions? I know Kuuga's Rising Forms are more powerful, but its like everytime he offs a monster it looks like a bomb just went off or something.

My other question, though its kind of obscure is, what's with all the water in the autopsy room? I've seen it twice now. Is that something they made up for the show, something done in Japan or in all autopsy rooms?

LOL. I remember wondering that too. It looks like a whole town, city, or something goes up with each explosion. Toei playing with pyrotechnics? I totally dug the bike stuff...that was great and a huge fanservice (who put "rider" back into Kamen RIDER).

Autopsy rooms...depend, I think. Usually there isn't water, but it gets MESSY. I wouldn't be surprised if they just hose the whole room down after finishing - that's just recalling from the experiences my med friends told me. Human Phys.and Anat in college had a hose, but not water everywhere like that.

I always thought the standing water and lack of sufficient lighting were used as a way to make the setting darker and more atmospheric.
