Kamen Rider Kuuga - Talkback

From what I remember, I think you answered your own question. His forms are more powerful. I haven't watched Kuuga for a few years, but I do think it explains what's going on eventually...

I always thought the standing water and lack of sufficient lighting were used as a way to make the setting darker and more atmospheric.

You could be right at that, I just wondered if there was some reason like they were trying to make it more realistic.

Given that Kuuga tries to set up that j-dorama/horror flick feeling, I think Bolt's right. Actually rewatching some of those bits, the water does give that darker, ominous presence and atmosphere.

I just found my favorite Kuuga eps. 34 and 35, where Kuuga fights this Grongi that keeps killing children and claims that he's only happy when he's making humans miserable. That REALLY pissed me off. Usually guys like that don't get what they deserve, but Kuuga pounded the **** out of that fucker. And THEN diced him up. :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

Alright, I'm on episode 43...winding down. So[HIDE] Kuuga and the Grongi are the same[/HIDE]? Will Godai turn evil or remain himself? And is that 4-horned creature Kuuga's Amazing or Ultimate form? And is it really No. 0 killing all the other Grongi?

BTW...the more I watch this show the more I wonder how the **** they could show this to kids. The last couple Grongi? 44 and 45? Fucking crazy. 44 tossed a fucking SPEAR right through Godai's shoulder. Talk about fast recovery times though. After he turned back you couldn't even tell he'd been hurt. His healing time is sick now. And that fight with 45? Even Titan form couldn't stop THAT beatdown. I swear when they guy pulled out the hammer I thought Godai would do some of that fancy dodging to avoid getting hit, or if he did we'd get some of those fancy sparks to make me laugh, but....no sparks. Just that Grongi beating the **** out of Kuuga. This show is sick. I love it. :buttrock: :buttrock:

Rising Gouramu btw, is the coolest thing ever. (Pwns Kabuto's shitty bike.)

Yeah the Buffalo guy is really brutal, I really liked how they went the extra mile and showed his hammer leaving imprints on Kuuga's armor.

I've always been kind of disappointed with how they ended the Shark Grongi though. They set up this cool fight on the boat, with Kuuga wielding dual swords and everything- and cut away for whats-her-face to stand around and frown at a bunch of other girls. I know it's part of the plot, but could they at least have had Kuuga and the Grongi come flying out of nowhere into the middle of that standoff?

Haha. I agree on that. Dual sword-wielding Titan Form Kuuga is cool as ****, and I feel cheated not getting a full fight for that.

Okay, something I'm curious about: Are they trying to say that all the monsters can, like Kuuga, switch to their own versions of Mighty/Dragon/Pegasus/Titan? 'Cause that would be cool....

I'm glad you're enjoying Kuuga, Sage. It's really one of my favorite Kamen Riders ever and it's a shame more people don't take the time to watch it, since it's not new (that's the only explanation I have).

Yeah, they kinda build towards that with the last few, especially Go Gadoru Ba, the beetle Grongi. He's been around for a while, and got in a fight with the bat guy a while back, but when he and Kuuga get to throw down...I think that's my second favorite fight in the whole series, after the first battle between Kuuga and the motorcycle-riding one in #27 or so (set to the piano music, that was cool.)
