No no no, before that.
His fight with the big bad guy (can't remember his name) and teh whole Ultimate for that they were building up too.
I feeel liek they didn't spend enough time on it. It seemed liek he gained it, and just was so awesome he overcame the darkness in like two seconds.
I guess I just expected more form teh final showdown.

You mean Gadoru? He beat him with his Amazing Mighty form.

The fight on episode 48 with Ultimate Kuuga and that punk Daguva...that was pretty bloody. Punch after punch, blood all over the snow, and no music. It really set the mood of the fight.


I think Kuuga has become one of my favorite Heisei rider shows.:thumbs:

One thing I loved about Kuuga that battles were so emotional. The lack of music in Daguba's fight, along with Kuuga's fight against Jaza, set the tone so well. There was no unnecessary music blaring, it was just two people fighting.

That's really why I hated Agito's ending fight, it was all dark and then we hear "Deep Breath" and I felt that it was really unnecessary. I mean, they were fighting God and his Archangels!!!

Some time music sets the tone for shows, and Kuuga had the perfect blend of silence and music.

So Kuuga rising mighty can take out an entire city, but Rising Ultimate AND Decade can't beat Shadow Moon?

That's why i hated Double. I know its convention for them to pimp the newest rider show and get people excited for it but it just felt like a slap in the face.

Hey..you know this iconic villain who was the nemesis of god damned Black and Black Rx? Well this new guy just waltzed in and schooled him silly when the main hero of the current show couldn't even get a look in, nor could the guy next to him who should be able to (allegedly) take out a planet.
It left a bad taste in my mouth.
They may not have intended it this way but it also implies that because Double handled Shadowmoon so effortlessly that he is miles ahead of Black/Rx...and considering the well documented parallels/homages to Black in Jokers design it just strikes me as being a bit arrogant..but that's an argument for another thread.

I wouldn't say it was rushed more along the lines I think either they ran into budget problems down the line or they were going for maximum emotional effect with minimum flash.


If it was the later, I could see why, they start off the episode showing the absolutely brutal and public defeat at the hands of Daguba right after he just got the power of Amazing Mighty. The darkness that was linked to the Ultimate form, was mainly defeated not because Godai was so great, but because he decided to reach its power not through anger but to protect everyone, which is why he spend almost two episodes saying good bye to everyone. He knew he only had one shot with his belt damaged and just like his first transformation into Mighty he changed to protect others.

Vehicular stunts have always been mostly handled by non-JAE groups (the credit I usually always see is for the Takeshi Racing group), so what Takaiwa does on the bike is most likely minimal. The difference with Kuuga was that they got known pro-riders, wasn't it?

Suzuki bikes also helped. (Kuuga was the last Rider with a Suzuki, wasn't he? I can't quite recall.) I've noticed bike action has been disappointing ever since they switched to Honda's big ugly car-bike eyesore things.

Kuuga's bikes were Gas Gas Pamperas, IIRC.

Seeing it from Godai's terrified perspective actually gives a greater sense of how horrifying Daguva actually is.

Godai is thoroughly confused, afraid and desperate. You had to feel for him.

Edit: Also, not showing the Amadam breaking leaves the viewer to imagine how it happened. We're free to imagine how terribly powerful Daguva was.

So powerful he warps the freaking camera.

Sometimes, less is more. Much more.

Just got done watching episode 46. Waiting for 48 and 49 to finish downloading before I watch 47 to end in one single go. Somehow, when Sakurai and the other dude killed the Abacus Grongi Dude, it felt sorta bitter. Especially when the hot Rose Grongi said something like "Soon you humans would be just like us." I don't know, it gave me a bitter-ish feel to it. I love how they handled the whole Sayuru and his mother story. It all just continuously builds up subtly and end with a pretty satisfying climax and we finally know why Jean acts all weird(of course, we probably had guessed what's his problem probably, but it's still awesome to finally hear him say it.)

As for Amazing Mighty. That was badass. :O I love the use of music in episode 46. Them deciding not to use any music for the episode 47's preview was a good decision. Looking back, there really weren't much week episodes in Kuuga, can't really think of one as of now. But I really like what they did with episode 43 though. No monster of the week! Gadoru and the others being able to use form changing abilities adds a nice touch too actually. I love how Kuuga's pretty much the same thing as the Grongis.

EDIT - oh yeah, Minori's dad is a war picture taker right? Is that a possible reference to Nigou? I don't know much about him but it seems he's a photographer in the Kamen Rider Spirits manga.

Kuuga was honestly hard for me to sit through. Medicore special effects, goofy as hell main character that made most "comedy sentai" actors look Shakespearean, villains were creepy (sometimes in a good way, but mostly bad), and the lack of ANY interesting supporting characters.
