The impression that I'd got of Kenzaki's is that he's doing all the Undead hunting and stuff solely for the money, at least in the very beginning anyways.

I always felt Kenzaki's backstory was meant to establish that the "job" aspect of being a Rider was immaterial to him-- he'd do it for free if he could. If anything, a lot of his struggle in Blade seemed to be dealing with other guys for whom being a Rider really was just a profession.

Yes, what I got from him was that he was the most innocent person, he was a Rider because he it was a source of income for him to get by his daily life which seems to be impoverished (hence him being a garbage collector in the movie after there were no more Undeads to seal). His innocent motivations are the opposite of all the other's motivations which seems to be more in the line of gaining something big rather than surviving day-to-day, which grants him humility I suppose. And the big bonus was that he was a genuine hero, even though it's simply a job, he always puts himself in the line of fire for people who wouldn't do the same for him. That's what I think the whole idea is for Kenzaki.

Hm, perhaps. I'll have to rewatch Blade one of these days with proper subs to have a clearer impression of him.

Kuuga is my fave rider. Does anyone know the name of the nice piano theme played in eps 25 & 26? The one that plays when the 2 episodes focus on that kid. I'm pretty sure it's not in any of the OSTs

I downloaded it from Midnight Crew Subs' site, all the episodes are in one torrent along with the special(s).

Speaking of those episodes, I'm in need of assistance here: does anyone know if we're supposed to see Kuuga's first battle with Daguva? After watching episode 46, the preview for 47 had me psyched. So when I watch 47 (and the start of 47 was absolutely terrific in how terrifying it was :castlerock I find out he's already fought Daguva...apparently.

Am I missing something?

We never actually see Kuuga's first battle with Daguba. The preview shows it, but the episode just has Godai being utterly destroyed and bloody after fighting Daguba. Whether they skipped it due to budget constraints, lack of proper CGI or just made Daguba and Kuuga too strong to show a fight that would exemplify how strong they were remains to be seen.

But the actual final fight is in episode 48.

So now I'm nearly done with Kuuga, and this has been a FANTASTIC journey. Godai is awesome, as is his show.

It's not every Kamen Rider ending that can come close to bringing me to tears. That was spectacular, and can safely say I haven't seen any Rider show quite like this one.

Actually, the last episode made me realize precisely what makes Kuuga feel different from the other Rider shows on a basic level. It's been more like a J-drama than a simple tokusatsu story; it felt fundamentally real and invested with genuine emotions. I feel like I know the characters and that I've watched them all evolve through the story.
