Kamen Rider Kiva - Final Thoughts for the year and look back

Kiva Review Pt3

Battles

In Kiva, i feel battles have been quite lackluster. As said above, finishers are not performed enough.I blame this due to the pacing of the story since it affects battles directly.

-Misuse of Ending songs during the battle sometimes.
Now this is a new mistake i have not seen before in other series.I sometimes hear that the ending songs being played when the rider is getting BEATEN UP.What kind of moment were they trying to enhance there?
This totally goes against the entire meaning of insert songs of a scene. This truly is so bad that it isnt funny.

-Due to story's pacing, the battle pacing is affected too, there isnt enough Kaijin/fangire kills.

Not enough bike action-see above posts
Castles,CGI stuff-See above posts
Emperor Form,Zanbat-See all previous posts.

My quick viewpoint on this:

I loved it. It had some flaws, but what show does'nt? Alas, alot of cool things were under used. But I enjoyed the characters and story.

Kiva was pretty terrible... Go-Onger and Rescue Force just weren't my cup of tea... Jungle Fury was really overrated. Only things that kept me interested in toku were reading Kamen Rider Spirits and watching Ryuki.

This is EXACTLY what I had in mind. Becuase there were not enough Fangire to kill, you had some finishers used a maximum of 3 maybe 4 times. Plus by episode 24 when Emperor form took over, the others never showed up again. I mean Bashaa/Dogga/Garuru used their finishers like 2-3 times? and DoGaBaKi form once? In fact I keep forgetting the DoGaBaKi form since it made "a cameo" in the show.

I loved it, I didn't notice the flaws so much because I wasn't actively looking for them. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, don't worry about overanalyzing it so much, you'll live longer.

The last two episodes weren't too bad, mostly because they just got to the damn point, but I think the ending was a bit out of left field. Nago and Megumi get married? Umm ... okay. I did a double take when Wataru and Taiga started slugging it out after Maya showed up at the end. I had zoned out for a second or two and then it was like "WTF! Why are they suddenly slugging each other!?!"

I was pretty disappointed how the show wussed out and never actually had anyone die, or revealed them to have died in a convenient way so that the hero is relieved of any guilt. I mean, Shima, Maya, Nago (sort of) ... Do we have to have bunch of near deaths and fake out "deaths" only to have them show up the next episode and go "Hey, I didn't actually die!"

I guess maybe Toei had a mandate on that or something.

I haven't read the entire thread ... but did anyone else notice that Mio was never mentioned once in the entire final episode? What an important character she turned out to be, leaving such a lasting impression on the heroes.
