Kamen Rider Gaim Ep 29 - "The Overlord King"

I just love how the exposition is done, right as Roshuo discusses how even though the Femusshu seized the power of the Helheim Forest, their own greed - their desire to stamp out the weak and find the powerful, laid waste the power that was given to them, we see anarchy and backstabbing break loose between Demushu and the rest of the riders. Roshuo's queen was probably killed in the strife between the Femusshu and maybe those who attained the true power of the forest. But Roshuo states that humans are just as feeble as the Femusshu were and he won't give them the power of the forest as they currently are.

I'm also glad Takatora is the one that finally gets the knowledge about the forest from the king of the Overlords himself.

And you can just feel the tensions rising between Mitchii, Kouta and Kaito. I just hope Mitchi de-henshins in front of everyone. I really do. And at Kouta's hands. Like you could break Zangetsu-shin's helmet and we could have a Timeranger moment.

Kikaider cross over doesn't look bad. Looks kinda cool actually. Plus Demushu is in the city, so it looks like they're gonna have more to do with the actual plot as well.

If Micchy couldn't handle a Jinba form, then I can't wait for the moment when Kouta goes Kachidoki on him.
Gaim looked intimidating as **** when he was walking towards the wounded Zangetsu. I think Micchy was about to piss his pants at that moment

And Baron is now evenly matched with Sigurd without using any upgrades. Remember back when he had to use Watermelon Arms to take him out?
It shows just how strong Kaito has become.

It's funny how in most Rider shows they pulled the belt out to de-henshin but ever since the beginning of Gaim, they have being doing it by closing the Lock Seed. So Baron changing from the Sengoku Driver to the Genesis Driver (which was a very cool scene BTW) didn't felt wrong at all, great job by the production team as always.

I was really hoping Zangetsu Shin would de-henshin in front of Kouta but I guess I was wrong. And now with Takatora still alive I can't wait to see a normal Zangetsu return and hoping for a Zangetsu vs. Zangetsu Shin fight.

Takatora coming back as normal-Zangetsu to own everyone would make absolutely no sense, but I will be the last person to say that it shouldn't happen

I can't see why it wouldn't. We already saw that Mitchy is a weaker Zangetsu Shin than Takatora's. And normal Zangetsu NEVER lost a fight IIRC(even in the Movie Taisen where he is clearly on the same level / stronger than Bujin Gaim).

I'm surprised that Kouta hasn't noticed that something's off with Zangetsu Shin. Especially since Takatora can put up a better fight than Micchi. Which is why this charade not going to last. Either Takatora returns or Kouta takes the Melon Energy Lockseed.

Just when the plot was developing so much and the adrenaline is rushing... I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER WEEK to see what happens :((((((

Technically you have to wait 2 weeks.
The next episode is gonna focus on Kikaider :)

Though at least it looks like the Kikaider story is actually taking place within the Gaim story, unlike the Toqger crossover which seemed to be in its own universe.

Takatora using normal Zangetsu would own Micchy as Zangetsu-Shin.

On a serious note...does this mean Takatora will revert back to normal Zangetsu since he no longer has the Genesis Driver?

Micchy and Sid both crapping their trousers as Kouta and Kaito respectively give both backstabbers a good old thrashing is beautiful. I just hope this masquerade ends sometime soon, because despite the delicious drama and how much I enjoy seeing Micchy become increasingly duplicitous, it's going to be a long, torturous thing to endure if they keep doing this. Kouta can surely figure out that the man he is fighting is not Takatora, eventually, given the lack of dialogue and the pathetic way he fights. Also, Demushu going into Zawame and Sid, as weak as he is, deciding to take on the other Overlords suggests to me that neither will last very long.

I like this new Overlord. There's clearly nothing innately malicious about him (not yet anyhow, but Team Ryoma, and Team Backstabbing Arseholes will likely heavily provoke him into being a threat), and he's at least the diplomat, though understandably believes that humanity will destroy itself just as effectively with the forbidden fruit power. It will be interesting to see how Takatora, who firmly believes in order, will take to this, and as mentioned, very fitting that he is the first person to be relayed this information. It will also be interesting to see how Kaito will take this, as his own Darwinian philosophy was being shat on.

Never in a while has the hammerspace concept been so flagrantly abused this episode. The Genesis Driver isn't exactly small, but presumably Kaito and Micchy have it stored up their arses while also carrying their Sengoku Drivers. There's hammerspace, and then there's blatant hammerspace like this that really pulls me out from the show at times. I know I shouldn't question Rider logic, but I'm doing it anyway.

Wait, the Kikaider special is actually episode 30? But, then it will have to be chronologically out of line with what just happened in episode 29 and what will happen in 31. What's the point in doing that? Just call it a fucking special. :sly:
