Tell me about it. When I saw that Jinba Cherry could use super-speed. I was expecting the rematch with Sid to be like a super speed clock-up type of battle. The show doesn't seem to show how the protagonist seems to get stronger either.
Kouta was only able to defeat Sid by basically tapping into the potent Toku Rage Power Grid and defeated Sid hard.
Kouta was able to tap into this Power Grid again when he fought against Takatora when they were clashing ideals.
Then Kouta received Kachidoki, which he rarely uses and still uses the Jinba forms more than Kachidoki.
Then suddenly, using JINBA PEACH to outclass Peach Energy Arms Malika.. not even Jinba Lemon, he's using JINBA PEACH and winning against Malika.
The transitioning is sort of bad on that aspect.
Actually I thought his fight with Sid wasn't from some sort of secret Power Grid. He used the right weapon for the right job. Basically I think he and Kaito are both getting stronger through experience their own way: Kaito's actively seeking out the strongest enemies, while Kouta gets a lot of attention by going through his crusade, fighting enemies that get stronger with time.
The first time I heard of what Jinba Peach does, I thought the good senses would be really great in combat. Like for example, Daredevil. I chalked up his first fight in Peach due to him not used to the effect yet.
My problem with that scene really, was: I couldn't figure out how Kouta didn't know Malikah was there.
But that's what they DID. It isn't IN English. If you read their notes for this week's release you'd see that they used a cypher to code the language. I don't know where you got that version with English, but it's not the one they intended to be the default.
It's just as bad as TV-N's. Just don't sub it *at all* is my preference. I'd love to just remove it, but since it's just random strings of letters (okay not random, it's a cypher) I can't search for it without reading the script!
I'm wondering, do you know that the original Japanese dialogue for the overlord's language also has a cypher for converting it into real Japanese? Some Japanese have used that cypher to decrypt what the Overlords are saying, and it includes some minor spoilers for those who can decipher the message.
I think what Aesir has done is a reasonable analogue in English. I understand getting annoyed by Sengoku and Ornac, but I think this was very well done, as it reflects the original intention clearly and creatively. If you're a Japanese speaker you could convert the language into an intelligible one, and now, as an English reader, you can also do so.
Alternatively, if you want to keep it a mystery, you can just read unintelligible garbling, which is exactly the same as it is for the Japanese.
