since OOO yes, declining sales on merchandise but they announced that sales raise very high during gaim (raise by 390% i believe from a scan http://imgur.com/s8Jb1qO )..., even some said surpassing the sentai merchandise sales

I don't know how accurate that is (Gaim's sales declined steadily throughout the show and the Energy Riders line was less successful) but we did recently get figures showing that Drive's sales have been considerably below Wizard's and Gaim's

for toys I don't really pay attention but I remember someone show how Gaim's tvs rating start going down, not sure with drive rating

I'm curious about this new Viral Core. The fact it exists might mean he's going to have to fight as Mashin Chaser for part of the climax.

I think they'll continue to give every Kamen Rider a V-Cinema release like Sentai (and it's convenient in that they can use only a few of the actors instead of needing a full cast like the Sentai sequels.) Maybe that's why Ghost looks set to have more than two Riders (with Spectre being introduced very early) - because now one or more of the secondaries will be contracted to do it

Drive's merchandise sales are doing really terribly, the items have been on huge price reduction for a long time. A TK set was seen selling for 2 Yen online once!

The sales haven't ever matched OOO's again, but OOO had ridiculously good sales compared to almost any other series. Decade had very good sales per quarter, although it would still be beat by Ryuki, Faiz and some other earlier Heisei shows due to having a short run. W went on to beat Decade's sales and stand above any previous Heisei series. Comparing to Sentai, W by itself beats every Sentai series aside from Ohranger, IIRC.

OOO actually was another leap from W, resulting in a very large number. In a single year, it sold more merchandising than Sentai usually does in two. Fourze's numbers were very close to OOO's too. Wizard was a drop, although still above W, Gaim recovered sales, but didn't quite get to OOO's and Fourze's numbers since there was a drop in the 2nd quarter. Drive has seen a really big drop in merchandising sales compared to all those series though. The 1st quarter was good, although bellow any of the post-Decade shows aside from W, but the 2nd and 3rd quarter have had very low numbers, going to bellow Decade levels. The 1st quarter numbers still should carry Drive to around W's level though.

It depends what you mean by "low". IIRC every show from Decade onwards has had sales way larger than anything Kuuga-Kiva achieved.

For many years Rider was considered Bandai's second best-selling franchise after Gundam. Sentai was in third. Then Yokai Watch came along and went straight to the top of the class, pushing everyone else down a peg.

Bandai recently released their sales figures for the last completed financial quarter, which roughly speaking would correspond to Drive's third quarter and Ninninger's first. Both franchises typically see their best sales in the first quarter and then they slow down for the rest of the series, so the figures are somewhat comparing a Rider show at it's weakest to a Sentai at it's strongest. But people who follow the figures closer than I say that Rider would typically manage to stay ahead regardless.

Ninninger didn't earn as much Bandai had predicted it would, but it's sales were still greater than those of Drive. For Rider to only be Bandai's fourth best-selling franchise, and to be overtaken by an underperforming Sentai series...well it isn't positive news is it?

and that the kanji for Eiji's name is 英志.

Good job, Sanjo and Ohmori! Another show under your belt where the female lead starts as a rounded character and finishes as Hero's Future Wife/Babymaker!

Eiji's name was deliberately spelt in katakana in the movie, so the change of spelling is probably to represent that this is a different timeline - where Shinnosuke won't die before he can ever see his son, Eiji most likely will not become a Kamen Rider, etc.
