well, at least it's a happy ending..not so much a gloomy atmosphere that we've had at this time last year

umm, did the Surprise Future movie ever mentioned or at least shown that Eiji's Drive Driver is the same Driver that Shinnosuke used to wear?

Or was it a completely new Drive Driver built from scratch?

The sigma battle didn't feel as dramatic. It ended with Mach rising above. And heart/drive becoming friends.

Not the same. Dark Drive's driver have an ability to autopilot the suit with user of this suit not in this suit (pardon my phrasing). So it was upgrading with Next system (because type Next) or something.

The Drive that Shinnosuke uses after the movie actually is the future Drive, with Krim's consciousness added to it thanks to the back up key, since the actual original Driver is destroyed in the movie.

The upgrades seem to be just the new Shift Cars, rather than the Driver itself.

If it's the same Driver then it's Fourze Engage Ring all over again, an object that springs into existence without any actual point of origin, or as KR Wiki said it, ex nihilo.

I watched the movie and they do mention that it is an upgraded DriveDriver that did not have Krim's conciousness in it. However, [HIDE]after reviving Krim with the Tridoron Key (in a very non convincing, let's-throw-everything-to-the air-and-hope-it-will-fall-into-place move (literally) ) Shinnosuke was able to use not only his system but the Next Shift Car (it is the same shift car as Dark Drive) to activate Type Special (which is supposed to be a fusion of Future Drive and Present Drive just like the Paradox Roidmude). So the way I see is that it is a newer hardware but just running on old software from the backup key, like Shinnosuke downgraded the Driver's software.[/HIDE]
