Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight - The Official Thread

I find it troubling that there's so much heated debates about the ending of the show when it seems to me only a couple of people saw it and only in Spanish. Yes, they gave their opinions and interpretations of what they got out of the story, but it's just one or two people's opinions. Given the broad spectrum of each individual's likes and dislikes on this forum, It seem to me a bit premature to debate about these unaired episodes.

I for one am waiting to see the final episodes properly (on TV and in English) when it airs to decide for myself instead of blindly jumping in to discuss something I have not seen. I believe the discussions will be more productive, and probably even more heated when the proper time comes.

As for this, I accept. This has a lot of wisdom for I already said all of my part as of this time around for I must watch this in English so as to understand the entirety of this show.

So no promo for the next Kamen Rider series? DAMN!

If there will indeed be a new KR adaption, and there wasn't a promo mentioning it even though KRDK has finished early in Mexico, I'm not so surprised. Maybe when it finishes here in the US (which may happen in January), then we'll know something.

As for the Earth Kamen Riders having their memories of being Kamen Riders erased, I don't have a problem with that. However, it would have been nice if they could have gone into some detail about what happened with them after they went on with their lives, besides just Chris.

I'm trying to upload the final episode with english audio but having trouble. I'll probably swing by starbucks/mcdonalds and see if I can be successful from there.

Sad to see KR turned out to be as overblown in rep as SPD is... starts off with huge promise, cracks emerge, fans bicker, ultimatley the critics are proven right, but there's still enough for an apologist to feast on forever, unaware of how hypocritical and stupid they are.

"Better than PR" my arse, it ended just like a PR season, and, let's face it, this WAS an early Saban Toku series, nothing that stood out, nothing that set it apart from PR. It embraced another franchise's identity rather than establish it's own and create a phenomenon.

For a first season Dragon Knight was decent, certainly better than MMPR.

KRDK wasnt in ANY shape or form a patch on what made MMPR popular. Even from an innovative or even a dramatic standpoint, it wasnt a patch on MMPR's third season or Beetleborgs Metallix or the best stuff from V.R Troopers.

1st (bold) paragraph: Watching the wrong show? I don't think so. I am watching the right show(s)

You are watching the wrong shows.

(Look at my Youtube comments and how many agrees with it).

...Who gives a **** about Youtube comments? People that comment on YT are usually the ones that would say the "N" word and get away with it if they knew a guy disagreeing with them was black. YT isnt the place for broad, objective, rational human converse.

Productive? I doubt it. To say anything negative about this show you have to put up with a page of 'shut the **** up,' 'why people no like this show watch this show you no like this show' and the always fresh 'stop whining' video.

What did you expect. Majority already knew stuff like this was going to happen when the first DK Trailer was released two years ago; people were either going to praise it like was the most innovative thing since sliced bread or they were going to associate it with PR and straight up trash the show. Even if your were giving the show the benefit of the doubt and staying open minded, you were going to get thrashed by either or both sides regardless.

Anyway, most people since the start of the series didn't really get into it until 15-25 episodes in and during that early stint of Dragon Knight, there's people out there stating...

"Ryuki Forever"
"Ryuki > Dragon Knight"
"Why did they choose Ryuki?"
"They're ruining Ryuki!"
"Damn it, it's the Saban Era 2.0"
"You suck Steve Wang!"
"I lost faith in you Steve Wang!"
"Trent & Lacey are f'cking annoying" (which they still do right now despite what has happened latey in the series)
"No Men are a bunch of douches, I hope they get it at the end."
"Chris coughs too much that I cannot get into the Sting fight scenes."
"Tim Taylor's brother is the main bad guy? This sucks!"

Essentially, Dragon Knight's BASIC goals were:

Disassociating itself with Masked Rider...which they did.

Breaking any annoying concepts seen in the Heisei Rider Series...which they did to an extent. In particular, fix any mistakes that Ryuki did during that series run. People hated the TV Series ending the most (for the obvious Deus Ex Machina cop-out ending), while others were annoyed with 13 Riders and Episode Final (which were given cliffhanger endings). Still what I find funny about this point is...it's pretty much saying, "NAH! NAH! Dragon Knight did this and Ryuki didn't." It's like with the whole "Power Rangers is better than Super Sentai because Power Rangers have....Battlizers."

...if Dragon Knight did something relatively out there in the process, more power to the creators as long as it turns out to be decent.

It took Adness two years to get Ryuki off the ground. There's no guarantee that another adaptation would be any easier to make. Expecting a trailer immediately after the conclusion of Ryuki is probably a little ambitious.

Then people are morons.

Really? I've been digging through some old episode discussions and I see basically what I see now.
Disassociating itself with Masked Rider...which they did.
NO ONE REMEMBERS MASKED RIDER.

Circles. She's spinnin' me around in circles, again. Oh, that skinnny blonde girl. Somethin' about the ages.
