The Gurren-Lagann designs were only passable as mechs because they were animated so well. I have no idea how you'd make this design not look positively goofy in live-action.

Speculation: The front face is Phillip. When he talks, the eyes there will light up.

And the side colors don't match up. Cyclone, Heat, and Trigger aren't on the same side. Perhaps they're something else?

Phillip is "Soul Side" and Shotaro is "Body Side." It would make more sense for Shotaro to be the chest-mounted head and Phillip to be the, uh, head-mounted head.

Either way it seems like a distinct downgrade from the half n' half look.

Soul Side is probably like Deneb in Zeronos Vega. There, but not actually in control.

Shotaro will probably always be the primary, so he'll get the actual head.
