I also don't get why the hell Emperor Form Kiva turns into a giant bat/dragon called "Flight Style". :sly: It pretty much paved the way for Decade's FFR toy line which was somehow ridiculous IMHO. :redface2:

Because they need a movie special form and Emperor had already appeared in the show.

Interesting design on Accel. Not feeling the belt, but who knows, could grow on me.

What do you mean, "need"? Does Toei not think a movie can't stand on its own merits anymore? I've noticed this trend of having a merchandising gimmick for every Sentai and Rider movie started this decade (Imagine that!). Of course there have been great movie-exclusive Riders, but where did they go? They died out with Faiz, and briefly came back in Hibiki and maybe Den-O.

Now granted, I actually liked Flight Mode in concept. But what ruined it was that nothing about Emperor Form lived up to the "Kiva is a dangerous monster than must be suppressed" idea that was hinted at in the beginning. It was just a giant bird-like dragon that appeared thrice.

This is not a personal need or anything. They just tend to release the upgrade in the movie, and then in the show a few episodes after the movies aired. This is usually in addition to the movie-only Riders.

I assume this is to get people out to see the movies and get new merch on the shelves.

I was waiting for Otoya to go nuke when he became Dark Kiva. As is stands, they didn't really get into why Kiva was that feared.

I forgot who said it but someone recently said that W's henshin characters are all homages of Ishinomori heroes (W = Kamen Rider & Kikaider, Nazca = Inazuman, Skull = Skullman, and now Accel = Zubat). Maybe we will have a dopant that resembles Arashi or Akumaizer 3. That would be cool.

Toei already made a homage to Arashi in Kamen Rider Hibiki, with the Oni armour storyline. So I suppose Akumaizer or Bibyuun are next in the row. Oh, and let's not forget Kyodain and Daitetsujin 17, all creations by Master Ishinomori.

well they're definitely going full-throttle on Accel's design. he looks pretty dang awesome. the first red 2nd Rider since Garren, and a Motorcyle-themed Kamen Rider is one of the coolest things ever

W's had characters around for two episodes with better personalities than Diend. I'm not worried on that score.

Not really diggin' Accel's helmet. I'll wait for a full live pic to judge.

One thing that pisses me off is the fact that first the trigger magnum is reused as the skull magnum AND now they've recolored the beetle phone and reused it for Accel. Why not just give him a Kabuto beetle phone?.
