Kamen Rider Data (RPG thread)

Cyreion Island, an artificial island that was a shining example of how far man had come within the recent years. If there was a new invention, it was made here, if someone wanted to pursue a career the dealt with electronics they came here, if someone wanted to be ahead of the others in any field they came here and even if someone just wanted to see technology at it's best they would have to come here. It was a place that was constantly at the forefront of modern technology with people of many different races and backgrounds came together and shared their thoughts and ideas and used them to create cutting edge technology.

It was this place that was a prime target for the extremist group known as the Hackerz, whose views of humanity advancing too far were well known among the general public, with it being the embodiment of what they opposed it was no suprise that that most of their attacks had been on Cyreion but were repelled due to the island's highly advanced state. Though there were rumors that they were somehow using the Realizer technology to convert computer viruses into physically destructive creatures, most had been dispelled by Cyreion's government in order to maintain peace.

Most accepted their explanation, but there were a few that had been forced into knowing the truth. Subaru Kurai, an intern and a high profile game company known as G-Tech, was one of those people who had experienced such a reality in the most difficult way possible. It all started with a mysterious e-mail from an INet engineer which contained one of the four rider systems and was thrust into a world of fighting the Hackerz virus beasts as Kamen RIder Data.

As usual Subaru was listening to some random heavy metal music as he stood on the moving sidewalk which led to G-Tech's main building in Cyreion while in the half-asleep daze he was always in in the morning. Suddenly though he fell over as the moving sidewalk locked up and began giving off sparks while the various signs and displays began practically going nuts.

"Dammit...looks like it's super hero time again......" he muttered under his breath before running around into an alleyway so no one would see him. Upon making sure no one was watching him he took the belt out of his bag and put it on before taking a small disk out of a holster on the side before inserting it into the belt. "Judging by the damage its still in the cyber world, hopefully I can wipe it out there before it can find it's way to our plane of existence.." he mutted before pressing the button on the left side of the belt. "Henshin." he said calmly before it responded by announcing [Digitize] as a grid extended from the belt and wrapped around him before shaping itself into the Kamen Rider Data suit before he disentegrated and rematerialized in the cyber world. "Now where is that pest...." he muttered as he looked around for the virus.

Ruki was sitting in front of her flat omniscreen in her room, an elbow on her desk with her chin resting in her hand. She was manipulating the display and sifting through information feeds with her free hand. She had a few hours before her class for the day and she wanted to destroy some of those Virus. She uttered a sigh of exasperation. This hero buisness was harder than it looked.

"This is just not going to work. Nothing about the Viruses is showing... it's like someone's keeping them a secret... and I can't just wait here for data on an attack to come through!" She complained. "How do those heroes always know when to show up just in time? Its not like I can hear the scream of the innocent from miles away."

The virtual pet on a desktop, a red fluff ball with eyes and two legs, picked up on its mistress' emotion and decided to cheer her up. It cartwheeled across the screen, only to end up hitting the other side of the screen and be stopped like by a wall. It staggered back, whirls in its tiny eyes. This made the girl giggle.

"Thanks for the boost, Step!" Ruki said before standing up. "I can't just stay here and expect to see some monster rampaging on TV. By the time I get there it would have already done too much harm. I have no choice but to get out there and try to find the next Virus that tries to bust into this world!"

However she wasn't sure exactly how to proceed with this patrol buisness. She didn't have any way to hop around above the city, even with her enhenced abilities. The bike she had used before in the cyber world could be Realized but it would attract too much attention in broad daylight.

She punched her hand decisively "Well I guess I got no other choice. I'll go patrol the Cyber World and find all the Viruses I can and then reappear at school!"

She reached to her belt that laid on her bed and put it on with a swift movement and she pulled out the red tinted disc from its holster.

With a big grin she performed a needless series of hand movements before inserting the disc and uttering the magical word she so loved to say "Henshin!"

[Digitize]

A red wire frame surrounded her body, expending from the belt buckle, before light came from the extremities and the 'texture' of her armor appeared. In another burst of light she was then transformed into computer data and pulled into the Cyber World.

She patted her virtual pet on its fluffy head and exited her Desktop through a secret door, stepping into the fabulous and complicated world of data.

Aika was up and about at this time of day, using a small PDA-like device to shuffle the order of songs she was listening to in different orders so she could get a feel on what to use on the dance floor that night. This was really the only thing she ever took the time to plan for as she did everything else by spur of the moment. You gotta keep people moving. Of course, a few slow songs to let people rest would be nice as well. She was heading towards a cafe that she often frequented in the morning to feed her need for coffee and pastries. Aika pretty much kept a steady supply of caffeine going in her, a side effect of her staying up so late at her job. But being one of the best DJ's on Cyreion Island had it's perks.

Opening the door to the cafe, Aika was immediately greeted by the owner, who showed Aika to a seat that he always reserved just for her. "Thanks, Oda. I'll have the usual." The owner nodded, ordering someone to bring Aika's usual order of coffee and donuts to her. In the meantime, Aika started using the cafe's internet connection and built-in touch screen monitor to search for info on her other interest: Robotics. The news she came across upset her a little. Looks like those SR-18 models aren't so cracked up to be after all. According to this, one of them went haywire and started attacking some people. Of course, it could be one of those Virus attacks that the media is keeping quiet about.

Aika's order came and she began to take a drink of her coffee when an internet notice telling people to be careful around G-Tech came in. Reading the notice, Aika wondered if the problem was merely just software-related, as the notice said. If it's a Virus attack, it doesn't really bother me. They aren't in my face at the moment. Besides, I can't be the only one of these armored things, right? They'll take care of it. Sipping her coffee, Aika went about her morning peacefully, unknown at what she would have to face later...

 

[Kain]

Subaru continued to scan the area for the virus that was wreaking havoc with the network, apparently this one was a sneaky one. "As usual no ordinary anti-virus seems to work..." he muttered as he say the damaged bits of data floating around. Suddenly he saw something odd, it was as if a piece of the area in front of him was distorted. Thats when that very same distortion slammed into him and threw him onto the ground. "Dammit...." he muttered. "No wonder I couldnt find it before, the damn thing can cloak itself. Not good, not good at all if I attack wildly I will probably just do even more damage to the system than there already is, and we sure as hell dont need that....." he muttered as he began cycling through various plans in his mind in hopes that the right plan of action would present itself to him.

"Got it!" he said quietly as he just stood there and waited. Again the virus dashed at him, but this time he heard it coming and counterattaced by swinging his Data Chain and ensaring the beast with it. "No to delete your little invisibility barrier." he said while the chain surged with energy causing the cloak to vanish and causing the heavily armored dragon virus beneath it to be revealed. "Now that ive seen it I think I preferred it when it was invisible...."

 

[Kai Narukami]

A young man walked along the streets of Cyreion Island looking for trouble but not your usual trouble. His name Touji Kuchiki and he was searching for something when he saw all the machines around him going nuts a smirk appeared across his face. "Good looks like a virus is around time to go to work!" He said then ran into an empty ally and took a belt out of his back pack and a disk and placed the belt around his waste then raised the hand holding the disk to his face. "Henshin!" He shouted as he placed the disk into the buckle of the belt. [Digitize] A yellow grid covered his body then a flash of light appeared and he was transformed into Kamen Rider Cyber.

"Now to cyberspace!" He said as he turned into data and was sent straight into the net. As he got to his location he saw another rider battling what looked to be like a dragon virus. "Boy and here I thought they don't get that big!" He said as he inserted a disk into his Downloader built in his right arm then a bazooka materialized in his hands. "Okay take aim and....fire!" He shouted as he fired a shot off his bazooka at the virus.

Aika finished what she considered breakfast and got up from her seat, waving to the owner before leaving. "See ya tomorrow, Oda." The owner waved back, and after Aika acknowledged the wave, she left the cafe to go to her next place of business: the Arcade. She went there to play those DDR-like games to burn off the calories she got after eating all those donuts. Though she kept fit anyway, it didn't hurt to squeeze in some more exercise. The Arcades on Cyreion Island were much like the ones in the old days, only more advanced of course. The basic genres of games were still there; they just had been taken to the next level. You actually had to dodge shots in the shooters, actually throw punches in the fighting games and so on.

After looking over the various machines, she spotted hers; it was the offshoot of an offshoot of the DDR series, still going strong after all these years. Taking her headphones off, she placed them and her PDA-like device beside the machine. Taking out her access card, she swiped it across the machine's card slot, paying for the game. Sweeping her hand across the various songs to choose from, which showed up in a holodisplay, Aika chose one and began tapping her foot, psyching herself for the coming song...

The plains of cyberspace were very difficult to put into words, Ruki would have been hard pressed to describe the surreal beauty of the place. Data of all size and shape was flying everywhere, following pathes of light and heading toward glowing portals that lead to different servers. The girl looked around the nearly infinite space and was satisfied to find it empty of viruses, for now.

She hadn't been to the cyber world often yet and was still amazed at the beauty of it. She wished the programs could interact with her, as she felt like a stranger on another planet. To her those weird shaped blocks of data where like people that needed to be protected from the monstreous virus. Sadly none of them could speak with her, either for a thank or to offer her information.

She summoned her sleak Slider Cycle and climed ontop of the white and red machine. She entered her school's IP adress into the dashboard and an arrow appeared on the display, showing her the way. As she gunned the virtual engine a road of light appeared before her, extending as she drove off toward her destination.

She rode off in the ethereal twilight of the cyber world. She swerved between data packet moving at incredible speed. She felt like she was on the highway but in reality everything around her was happening at the incredible pace of data transfer. She was almost moving at the speed of light.

That's when she saw them. A group of minor virus, the normal kinds not the ones that would require a capital 'V' like the ones that can breach into the real world. They looked like silver chain chomps, without the chain, and they were attacking a shapeless mass of data that was trying to escape. The virus were taking bits out of it and eating it like mad animals.

"Net Bowgun!" Called out the girl, coming to a swerving stop and opening fire just as the weapon appeared in her hand.

The shot barely miss one of the virus and they all turned toward her.

"Not on my watch, stinkin' data sucker!" She declared in a macho voice.

One of the virus leapt toward her, jaw wide open. She gasped and fired, mostly out of reflexe, causing to explode. The other virus, startled by it decided to make a run for it. Those little guys were fast, making long leap and almost flying toward a glowing gate leading to a server.

"Smarter than I thought..." She commented, reving her engine and following them.

The virus dissapeared into the glowing portal and Ruki had to stop. Her Slider cycle could not cross such gate, it had to be returned to its storage unit before being uploader on the other side. She prepared her bowgun, as it was obvious the little chompers were going to ambush her.

A quick scan from her visor told her where that portal lead. To an arcade room's server.

"A hero never steps away from his duty!" She told herself, taking a deep breath before stepping through.

She wasn't ready for what she saw. It was obvious that time flew at a different rate in this server than in the Cyber World as it looked like the little chompers had time to do some damage already. Half eaten data was laying around, most of it looking like monetary data and game data, in the shape of video game characters, were running away from the chompers. One of them took a bite out of a golden piece of data and started to grow. Those things were getting stronger with every bite!

Ruki didn't waste time, Kamen Rider Net was needed! She opened fire on one of the smaller Chomper that was chasing a female character. As game data the characters were programmed to deal with virtual concepts such as other data character, thus it was easier to interact with them, even if they only could think within the parameter of their universe.

"Help us brave Lady Knight! The demons want to eat us!" Pleaded the female character.

A big burly character was swinging a sword around but one of the chomper just took a bite out of it. A metallic spike then grew out of its head in the shape of the sword blade!

A bigger chomper took a lunge at Net, trying to bite her. The female Rider gasped and dropped to the ground. A powerful kick then sent the ball shaped virus up in the air where she quickly dispatched it.

A blood curling scream echoed through the virtual world as the burly character was empaled by the spiked Chomper. One of its collegue took a bite of the character's arm while another his leg. The spiked one pulled back.

Net had to look away as the character was completely deleted, absorbed by the viruses.

A baseball player character screamed as one of the last few smaller chomp bounced toward him. Using his bat the character flung the creature away, right toward Net who quickly fired with her bowgun.

"Homerun!" Declared the baseball player, only to gasp when NEt trailed her weapon toward him.

He dove behind a feature of the virtual landscape, right next to a group of other characters, just as the Rider destroyed another small Chomper.

She surveyed the scene and saw what appeared to be an anti-virus program, shaped like a giant ameaba, engulf one of the chomper and quickly disintegrating it. That left only the three that had consumed the burly character.

The girl breathed a sigh of relief, until the a blast obliterated the anti-virus program.

She turned and looked at the three chompers, one of them had its mouth open and smoke was coming out of it. The three now looked huge compared to earlier and they were now starting to mutate further. First the spiked one took on a humanoid shape, still in silver color and with a jagged mouth and a spike on its head, but it now had legs that gave the look of big boots, muscular arms and what looked like a leather jacket with chains. Two more spike grew out of its shoulders. The one that had opened fire from its mouth grew two reptilian legs and a tail. It opened its mouth to show a smaller mouth on a stalk within, still with razor sharp teeth. The smaller mouth opened and a blue volley flew toward Net!

She dodged the assault and it hit one of the wall, sending sparks of energy flying all around the miniature cyber space. Net knew this meant trouble to the outside world.

Finally the last one grew a pair of gigantic arms with claws and it started to hover in mid air.

The humanoid one started to chuckle "Now the gaame can really begin!" it said, much to the girl's schock.

"You...you can TALK?!"

"Off course...with the data from those foolish characters... we've advanced to a new level of consciousness! It's exhilirating! It's completely different from before... I wonder how much stronger we'll get when we devour YOU little girl!"

One of the other chomper growled while the last one make a snapping motion with its jaw.

"Oh yes...we'll be nearly INVICIBLES!" Laughed the humanoid, before launching himself at Net.

Aika had began moving her body to the notes and rhythm of the song, placing her feet in the spots that the game had indicated. The speed soon increased, but Aika was able to keep up with it, all the while doing it rather nicely. Her fun would be crashed when some of the other people complained about their games acting weird. Aika paid them no mind at first, focusing on the song as it reached it's end. Sparks started to fly from the nearby machines and this caused Aika to break her concentration and misstep the last note, ruining her perfect score. Sighing to herself, Aika knew what all this meant. Virus attacks. Man, they are such a pain...

Thankfully, Aika started to carry around a bag with her henshin belt inside it after the incident at the night club and she looked around to see if anyone was watching her. Seeing that the coast was clear, Aika put on the belt and brought a light yellow-tinted disk out from the holster. Tossing it in the air, she brushed her hair back with her hand. "Henshin." Grabbing the disk as it fell, Aika inserted it into the belt.

A light yellow wireframe enveloped Aika's body, forming the armor of Kamen Rider Driver around her. Shortly after, she was transformed into data and sent into the machine she was playing only moments ago. Rematerializing, Aika was a bit disoriented, this being her first time in this world of data. Never had to do this at the nightclub. The Virus made it to our world first... Looking around, she saw all the destruction and what appeared to be another rider fighting against three Viruses in the distance.

"Driver Shuriken..." Ninja stars soon appeared in her hand upon saying this, as she used her suits speed to close the distance between her and the viruses in a short amount of time. Throwing her Shuriken at the enemy that lunged at Net, the ninja stars dug into the creature and knocked it back as Driver skidded to a halt. "Yo. So you're one of the other people with something like me. Let's talk after this. I want to see if you know anymore about these suits." Driver said to Net as she noticed the other two Viruses were angry at her. "If you don't like me, get me off the dance floor...if you can." She said in a sing-song tone as Driver readied her Shuriken again and sped around, trying to confuse the viruses so Net could hit them while they were distracted.

((Must be the time of the night ^^;; I'll check what I can do after a good night sleep. Basically imagine the chain chomp from Mario, little ball with mouth and big eyes, but instead of black all silver. When they eat data they get stronger and assimilate it into their structure. They eat video game character data and gain their attributes.))
