Kamen Rider Blade: pretty awesome

Now i admit to, at one time, being in the "Missing Ace Beginning > the Series ending" mostly because i expected the show to end with the inevitable Kenzaki Vs Hajime battle to the Death.

And when that didn't happen (the fight did, but Kenzaki took the third opinion) I was a bit miffed, so i latched on to what i saw as the "Proper ending" where one of them died/got sealed.

But, in hindsight, the Series ending is...an ending. It wrapped things up, with an unexpected twist right at the end. It's not my favourate ending, but it was solid.

The series proper, yeah, the first 4 or so episode kind of dragged to me, but things picked up.

And i don't care if people see it as a Plot tumor, i liked the Dynamic between Hajime and Amane. Though i admit the idea of a 9 year old being in love with a guy who looks to be in his early 20's was a bit creepy

Man, I liked Mutsuki's possession angle AND Missing Ace. Coupled with also loving the early episodes, I will just never see eye-to-eye with the majority when it comes to Blade.

On another side note, can anyone give me some non-spoiler context to this song? I really like it, but I have no idea who the hell is singing it (it's none of the lead actors, as far as I can tell), let alone what it was made for.

I don't remember if it was even in the show, or if it's just one of those album oddities that populated the early 2000's CDs. In addition to the character songs sung by the cast, there were a bunch of other ones that never seemed to make it on TV (some of them pretty good.)

Seeing how Kotarou of all characters got his own song, I was wondering if it was someone who was gonna pop up later.

So, I'm finishing episode 41 and, is it me or is the whole "They used Rouse Cards 10,000 years ago" thing really ridiculous? According to Tiger Undead, the Rider system didn't exist back then so what did they even need the cards for? Playing a really, really old version of Magic: the Gathering?

Edit: OK, finished 41 and I have to also ask.... what is with this damn show and its abuse of mind control?
[hide]
> Tachibanana's scared - Oh, he was just being controlled by the fear in his mind.
> Chief Karasuma is working for Isaka - he was mind controlled
> Tachibanana's not scared anymore - he's being mind-controlled by some seaweed Isaka was using.
> Mutsuki is an evil rider? Oh, an Undead is just controlling his mind again...and again...and again... and again..., etc.
> Tennouji's plot where I left off -- to use his Titan Undead to poison the Riders which will control their minds and turn them into Undeads.[/hide]

Didn't anybody ever stop and think, "Hey, maybe we're abusing this tiny detail just a bit?" ~.~

Well, the it seems Joker could use the power of the cards. So i guess Undead or like Megaman Bosses, Defeat = Giving your power to the one who defeated you.

Now you share my feelings about how Mitsuki's arc's too dragged :3

Now I'm gonna have to take back half of what I said, because at the point where I started to complain it basically ended. At least to the point where the show wanted to move onto something else.

But if anything the arc was probably really back when the show was new and you had to tune in weekly. I will say at least that much.

25 episodes in, and this is the first time I've actually seen them do something like this, where the Elephant Undead smashes Blade's face in with a hammer (Gave me some Kuuga flashbacks) and leaves a big hole in the mask so we can see half of Kenzaki's face. I'm surprised to actually see them try to establish that the actor is in the costume, even though that's only true 0.0000000000001% of the time.

I'm happy to see that we have another good Undead on the team's side. And unlike Chalice (whatever his real identity is) this one's not a berserker anti-hero. Plus he's another spider, and regardless of how redundant that is, it's to see a good spider to counteract the evil one we hear so much about.

Yeah, I like spiders. And I love when there's the token good member of the evil monster group.

Yeah, the Mutsuki possession stuff is back in full , but my issue with it before was that it was starting to get repetitive at the time. Right now stuff is actually happening. Interesting stuff.

Episode 29, woah. After the King of Clubs sacrificed himself, the show suddenly turned Den-O goofy out of nowhere, with Chalice doing a Prince/Pauper switcheroo with an opportunistic goofball who owns a octopus stand.

Not to mention the ongoing feud between two food stand families.

Yeah, this is too awesome. I never imagined something like this would happen in Blade.

Taiyaki Master Ultimate Form.

I'm speechless. What nicer way to give a quick breather before the story kicks back in gear to reveal the GREATEST KAMEN RIDER OP EVER?

The referee seal the loser in stone tablets thingys 10k years ago. There is a flashbask referring to this somewhere.

The flashback in episode 41 showed
[hide]Tiger Undead kicking some random Undead's butt then the stone came up and sealed him into a card.[/hide]

Unless, what you're referring to comes later.. I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Ready to go, Count Zero? :P

Looking back at Kamen Rider Blade, i would have to say that it is one of my favorite Hesei seasons next to Ryuki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva and W.

I always thought of her looking at him like a father figure or just someone she really looks up to. You know, like how a kid always have that one person he/she really likes to hang out with.

I only wish that it happened faster than how it played out.
