Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger rumor thread - G3

I don't know if this has been posted or not, but it seems to me like Takayuki Godai (Hiba/Vul-Eagle) might have filmed a little something more when he was doing episode 49 -- this picture shows him reacting to something while holding, presumably, the Vul-Eagle Key.

I'm guessing some of -- maybe most -- of the cameos in the final episode will be a scene where they cut to random former heroes as they get their powers back. Because we know they ain't joining in on the action, so...

To be honest, it's not exactly the actors that are fighting inside the suits; it's the suit actors themselves.

Duh? Most of the people here already knew that.:eyebrow:
He is just pointing out that we might see the Gokaigers return the powers of the previous sentai heroes.

The Gokaigers have no other choice but to. The whole purpose of them keeping the Goranger to Goseiger keys in the first place was because they needed them all to find the treasure.

They found the treasure, then they destroyed it, & the anniversary series is nearly over.

So, Gokaiger's not getting a V-Cinema release? Probably not surprising since its ratings were so low

I don't think ratings matter as much as disc sales, and Gokaiger didn't do well there either (although it did fine for a Sentai). Goseiger's probably got green lit because the Shinkenger V-Cinema sold much more than the other releases, so they tested it again to see if it'd happen once more, but it didn't.

It's obviously too early for this but maybe they might revive the V-Cinema release with Gobusters. If it provides a ratings/DVD sales boost like Shinkenger did, maybe they'll risk it

What have Gokaiger's DVD sales been like compared to previous shows?

Huh... The only numbers I have o files are these:

*2,069 *1 Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger Vol.1
*1,588 *1 Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger Vol.2

I think I remember seeing only around 1k units for a later volume. Anyway, that's really low overall, but still higher than the usual tv Sentai volumes that often didn't even rank to get recorded numbers like that (and even the Gokaiger volumes only have rankings for at most one week because they immediately disappear from the rankings too).

Goseiger Last Epic did this, which although higher than those, is pretty bad for a disc-only release:

2,818 *1 Goseiger Last Epic
3,171 *2 Goseiger Last Epic

Yes, but don't you find it weird, when you look at Gokaiger and Kamen Rider anniversaries, that they're afraid to give much (if anything) to actors of a certain age? I mean, in Gokaiger, every hero from the '70s and all but one from the '80s got the Floating Head treatment. A lot of these guys are skilled in stage combat, a few are still athletic or still do martial arts; there's no reason to not show that they're still capable of being physical despite being older, instead of having there be a sort of disconnect by focusing on the suit and quickly acknowledging that person as a Floating Head.

The Japanese are known for revering their elders, yet when it comes to fantasy like tokusatsu, where the importance of age isn't a factor, the older folks are just...put out to pasture. Let's give two episodes to the Hurricaneger dolts because they're young, but, screw you, Aka Ranger, you're only good for talking and telling us stories...as long as you don't doze off in the middle of your story, gramps.

Yeah, that's just kind of stupid. If you're going to celebrate a series, don't do it the half-assed way. And actors like Blue Mask & Red Turbo & actresses like Five Yellow aren't even that old at all.

They still gave Wada Keichi and Toshihide Wakamatsu action scenes and they're only in their early 40's. Kind of disappointing that they didn't do it to others. Even someone like Kaneko Noboru didn't get to fight.
