Just wondering.

A simple passerby...
If anyone's got any sort of problem like say ADHD?

I've got it, and it grants me the ability to be a great student athlete, mathematician, actor, singer, dancer, writer, but it also takes away by ability to concentrate on one thing at a time. I don't take medication because when I did, it took away all my potential. I literally became the slowest student in class with medication. I stopped talking non stop and I stopped cooperating at all.

But lately, I couldn't focus on writing or doing anything for a long time, even if it's some I enjoy. Would taking a very minimum dose of the medication help me focus on things I'm good at more? I mean, I'm only talking about taking enough that it helps control me, but not taking so much that it takes away my potential.

I had a rather strong case of it as a child and it definitely made my early years at school less than great in terms of the grades that I got. It did get easier to deal with by using medication, but I was generally a kid prone to so many allergies that there was almost always something in some form of the medicine I needed that would screw me over in the end. That coupled with the fact that a lot of the medication I took had some nasty mood altering effects on me helped me in the decision to stop taking the stuff when I was old to enough to know that it was doing more harm than good. That and, I do know exactly what you're talking about in saying that it does a lot to stifle your potential, even if I had problems with various subjects while off my medication, there was generally at least one subject I could excel in dramatically compared to others, but that just didn't happen at all on the medication.

I personally don't see anything wrong in taking perscribed medication whenever you feel that you just can't concentrate. Though it isn't nearly as bad as it once was, I still have the lingering ADD that makes it insanely difficult for me to concentrate on my school work and writing in general. Writing has always been a hobby of mine and I'm still aiming towards a career in it, but I definitely have those times when I just cannot do anything to focus on my school work or just writing for fun and that's when I need the medication. It thankfully doesn't happen too much these days, but it is definitely a problem for me whenever it does.

I think I have ADD, but no doctor's been able to see it. I usually block out what others are saying and I can see more of what's in my line of vision or I can hear about what 10 people are saying at once. It's like an awesome super power.
I also have high fighting endurance.
Make the most of what you have. :)

I'm a little bit obsessive compulsive, but I think that has more to do with my inclination to tidiness and perfection than anything else.
