JETMAN: The Empress Juza Saga - SPOILERS

Raita the Caveman or Tomato King?
Those would be my picks, anyway. They're goofy without being any fun or even having any sort of worthwhile point to make.

I hate both of those episodes, but I was thinking of the Dryer Jigen episode. I hate that episode. It's hard to think of any other "funny" Sentai episode where EVERY joke falls flat, dead, the way they do in that episode. It tried way too hard, and nobody likes it when someone tries so damn hard to be funny. Stupid writing, the Jetman cast visibly uncomfortable being out of their element, lazy direction...

It's like the worst Fiveman episode combined with the worst Go-onger episode.

The way the scene reads, she's too still and to the point about what she thought about him. And doesn't react at all to being struck down.

That's kind of an effect and style of tokusatsu shows from the time. (The still photo-like image with the overdubbed scream.) Knowing the writer, I think it's obvious that was meant to be the actual girl and she was killed.

One thing that I think takes Radeige's nastiness up even another notch in this story -- he's cured the girl of her disease before he ends up murdering her! She's in really poor condition when he meets her and she wastes her positive energy on hoping Radeige recovers his memory over hoping for her well being. And even though there's the brief moment he wavers when she's trying that last time in the cave to reach out to him (it's a nice touch how they do that little bit where his blue skin becomes human-like again), he doesn't want to allow even that small bit of weakness to remain, so he kills her.

As for the Mahoro Abaranger talk, I think livejetabare is referring to an arc in the 30s when Jannu reverts to being Mahoro and has a brief bout of amnesia.

So, anyone wanna way in on if Rad actually killed the girl or if he was merely striking down her memory?

I believe he killed the girl. There's only so much they could a) do with special effects and b) it might just have caused a row with whoever watches to see that y'don't go overboard.

Kind of reminds me of heehee Akibaranger and the storyline of the father getting kicked out of a show for writing too dark and violent plots.

Sooooooo.... watching those Jetman with some friends, they read the ending of that one saga differently. It wasn't *actually* the girl confronting Radiquet at the end, but it was his memory of her that appeared.

The way the scene reads, she's too still and to the point about what she thought about him. And doesn't react at all to being struck down.

Soooooo... in that one case he wasn't a cold blooded murderer.

You have to get to know him better, hahahahah.
