is PS3 region free?

Sadly, the only thing Region Free on PS3 is the PS3 Bluray games, PS3 Download games, some Minis, and PS1 converted games. PS2, Disc based PS1 games, DVDs, and Blurays are still region locked. :( Kinda annoyed at this too cause i'd like to play my PS2 imports on my PS3. :redface2:

As long as it's a PS3 Bluray game, PS3 download game, mini, or PS1 converted game. Keep in mind, in order to purchase from foreign PSNs, you'll need to use there PSN card. Like if i were to puchase something from Japan's PSN with my US PS3, you have to use Japan PSN cards. They won't let you use a credit card or PSN card unless your or it is from that country. :\

Hence one of many reasons why i have my bank account in Nagoya so i can handle such transactions, among other things i buy from japan.

Also keep in mind that while Blu-ray movies are region locjked, unlike DVDs, NA shares the same region coding as jpn, so you can import any blu-rays you want from there.

I always thought just the bluray games shared the same code. :p Just looked on Play-Asia now. DAMN !! :disappoin If i knew that eailer, i would have bought All Rider vs. Daishocker on Bluray. :shakefist Instead my money is going to TvC and 2 Tatsunoko sticks. XD
